HOW TO BAKE CAKE WITHOUT BUTTER OR MARGARINE

In this COVID-19 lockdown creative era, this is how to bake cake without butter or margarine used.  These are times to use what you have, make the best of it and create what you want.

My 6 year old is craving some cakes. There’s no butter at home and we are all staying safe staying home.

I asked him if we can manage to bake a cake without butter and he says ‘yes’ so here is our amazing cake baked stress free and without butter.

The mixing of this cake was so fast.  I mixed the cake batter with a blender instead of a cake mixer.

We were done mixing and folding in the dry ingredients in just 2 minutes.

How to bake cake without butter or margarine
INGREDIENTS FOR MY CAKE WITHOUT BUTTER:

3 cups all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking flour

3/4 cup vegetable oil (I used soya oil)

9 eggs

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla and banana essence

QUICK STEPS TO BAKE CAKE WITHOUT BUTTER OR MARGARINE:
  • First sieve flour and baking powder into a bowl.
  • Add the salt, mix and set aside while you go take care of the liquid ingredients.
  • In a food blender, we first of all measured in the oil, then added the eggs, sugar and essence.
  • We connected the blender to power and turned on for a second and off again
  •  Turned on for another second and turned off again for about three times.  With that, all the ingredients are well blended. Be careful not to over blend please. Just pulse, pulse, then pulse again and that’s it. The use of a blender is just to take away the stress of manual mixing. Since my cake mixer is misbehaving, but thankfully, the cake turned out excellent and was cleared as soon as it was cut.
  • Next we poured the blended cake ingredients into a bowl and whisked for about a minute using an egg whisker.
  • Now is time to gently fold in the flour.
  • Pour into a greased baking pan and bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • When cake is baked, bring out from the oven and leave to stand for about 30 minutes before removing the baking pan.
  • Now to cool before cutting and sharing.  Enjoy this deliciousness baked without butter or margarine and fast too.

For my gas cooker and oven, I  always mention that they have no reading just knobs to turn on and off. I preheated the old school oven for 30 minutes before putting in the baking pan.  25 minutes later the cake without butter is baked and ready.

Well, this is just two hours after baking and the cake is gone. The kids and adults rushed my no butter cake and I enjoyed it too. Try it.
