EASY STEW TO COOK WITH FIVE HUNDRED NAIRA.  This delicious five hundred naira pot of stew is easy to cook. Ingredients, easy to find. This stew is almost like the kpanla tomato fish sauce, but this has no fish. Cooked with egg instead.

 INGREDIENTS FOR FIVE HUNDRED NAIRA LOW COST NIGERIAN TOMATO STEW

  1. Onion N50
  2. 1 Egg N30
  3. 1 Green pepper N100
  4. Tomatoes N100
  5. Pepper, salt, maggi N200
  6. Misc N30
    Chicken and sausage pieces not part of the cooking.
    Just for garnishing the served dish.

COOKING DIRECTION for EASY STEW TO COOK WITH FIVE HUNDRED NAIRA

  • Fry the onion and green pepper with seasoning cube for about a minute.
  • Next, add the tomato, stir and let it fry for another minute before adding the watery whisked egg.
  • After pouring in the egg, leave it to boil before stirring. Check for salt and add if needed.
  • Serve with boiled rice, yam, plantain or any accompaniment of choice.
  • This stew cooks in 10 minutes or less if you have the vegetables already washed and chopped. I cooked this early this morning for a Nigerian school lunch box and between 6 30 am and 6;40 am, the stew is ready for serving. It serves five, so there’s still enough to go round.

 

NOTE: Before we start thinking like, ‘oh, she didn’t list oil. Yes. I did not buy the oil but even if you buy oil, the stew can still be cooked with five hundred Naira. See Below:

  • Tomatoes 100 Naira
  • Green pepper 100 Naira
  • Maggi 50 Naira
  • Pepper 50 Naira
  • Salt 50 Naira
  • Oil 150 Naira
  • Total:  Fifty Naira less of 550 Naira.
