Professional Housewife
Adaeze teaches women on how to be empowered as housewives.

There are ways to become profitable as a housewife. Some women become housewives because they have no other option. Others become housewives by choice.

Being a housewife can be very profitable and fulfilling. There are housewives making money from home. Some through blogging, Social Media, Selling on Online stores and others with physical businesses they run from home.

These days, housewives are no longer liabilities because we earn money from home. Mom Blogger Adaeze shares with other women how to become a professional housewife and make money while at it.

In this age of Internet businesses, no one sees a housewife as a liability anymore. No one has any right to look down at you because you don’t wake up and rush to’ do a 9 to 5 jobs. If you chose to earn

nothing while housewifing, then it’s your choice and congratulations for that dear.i However, if as a housewife, you want to earn your own income, be a boss too, it’s  very possible and the tips she shares in these series will help you start something and get yourself financially empowered. ries and as long as she continues to post, I’ll keep us updated. 1. Change your mindset. That you don’t have a 9 to 5 doesn’t make you useless. You are as important and fabulous as any mum out there. That you don’t contribute to the finances at home doesn’t mean you are doomed. There are several ways to contribute to the bottom line other than an actual job/business.

a. You can save. If you are not adding to your family income, at least don’t waste it. Look for areas in your home that are bleeding you of cash.

Fix those areas. Stop trying to keep up with who is not keeping up with you. You will still lose the competition so don’t even start.

By all means, get yourself nice things if you can afford it, but have a savings account and operate it. When the money accumulates, invest immediately. Also have a piggy bank. Those loose change you think is nothing is actually something. In a later post I will show you how to invest and how I was able to save a lot of money at home after I resigned from my job.

B. DIY! Learn a craft. How can you be at home and your child’s shirt loosened at the seam, then you have to look for a tailor to stitch it back or the child will wear it like that. No ma. Learn it.

You can learn simple sewing, baking, hair styling…and sometimes charge your husband for it😜After All, someone else would have been paid to do it. So give him a discount and collect your money.

The only time I used a Baker was when I was heavily pregnant and couldn’t cope. All the parties we do in my house, I do the cooking.

(I don’t do big parties anyway, part of my minimalist lifestyle). Plan it, prepare ahead, learn what you have to, and bill Oga. No free food for naija😄. Remember the discount sha. I also sew.

C. Sell those things you don’t use or you barely used. You have money lying around in your house, but you can’t see it. We have a culture of buying what we don’t really need, so look for those things and sell. You can open an online thrift store.

Part 2 will be continued in another post.
