Sis Eya, thank you for putting up the picture of the spoon to use and not to use to scoop the beans into the oil. This should do the trick for me as I was so disappointed the last time I fried akara, it was so shapeless that it put me completely off. I also didn't know ginger can be added to akamu. This blog has taught me a lot o, plz don't stop the good work. Lizzy
ReplyDeleteThank you Lizzy! We have also learnt a lot from your recipes.
ReplyDeleteThis is my fav breakfast and dinner!
ReplyDeleteI can eat hot akara everyday o!
I always have problem with the shape..mine comes out flat...so I use a small plastic cup, and a pot instead of frying pan..and it comes out rounded.
i love akara anyday anytime. am not a fan of the guinea corn pap though so i usually take the regular corn pap
ReplyDeleteI ve been a good eater of akara, but you ve now compelled me to make it a 'very regular' meal. And this gingered akamu makes it another variety o! Na you jare!

ReplyDeleteHey! See akara, looking so scrumptious. I like akara, but can't stand pap of any kind. Keep on tantalizing our taste buds Eya. Ata girl!!!
ReplyDeleteI love ginger. I can eat it in anything. It's very medicinal. It has natural anti-inflammatory properties . It settle stomach upsets and is a good pain killer. Also helps with headaches and migraines. Just add to food, cakes and cookies for a lovely flavour. I normally blend it with garlic, extract the juice and drink alone or with lemon, or fruit juice or Nutri-C or with zobo...Now with Akamu? Great!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. I havent started making akara yet, I dnt trust my blender but I have bbookmarked all your akara recipes.
