LOSING WEIGHT WITH NIGERIAN FOOD DAY 39

nigerian soup
my weight loss to 79 kg
I have been saved from getting some clean slaps after asking to be slapped if by this weekend I don't drop below 80 kg. People, yours truly is there. My goal for this weekend? 79 kg. Today is Friday and by God's special grace, I'm there ooooo. Help me smile abeg. After taking only soup without swallow for dinner, temptations came in the form of hunger, I said "na lie" me that is going to get slaps if I don't lose something? I refused to touch, drank enough water instead.
Yesterday's Brunch was just vegetables... 3 carrots and a cucumber.
Dinner: Nigerian soup with no fufu just for yesterday because I must meet that weekend goal and deal with all the calories mangoes loaded in my system last week. Who is happy for me please? We are making progress. #nothingisimpossible . About two months back, one of my teenage daughters told me that ever

MY NIGERIAN WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY DAY 26

1/2 cup boiled rice and beans with stew and some cucumber slices.
Brunch and dinner for yesterday Thursday, March 29. Before the carrot and cucumber smoothie was ready, I ate 2 boiled eggs sha. Dinner was just 1 cup of boiled rice and beans with stew and a side of cucumber slices. E nor bellefull me but I just maintainnnn...

A mug of blended carrots and cucumber.

After yesterday's planks and all, I couldn't find the energy to work out today, make I rest abeg.
Still gliding on 80 kg this morning, I snacked on roasted groundnuts at night (Not advisable though) God be praised for how good I feel about my size as I look forward to my desired final destination which is 76kg by God's grace oh! Then I can increase my portions a bit and just maintain that. What ever you desire to weigh is possible, you alone have the power to get yourself there or to just give up and stay where you are just wishing. We can do this. I want to try and see if it's possible for me to lose the weight and return again to 76 kg (That's what I weighed after my first pregnancy. I remember nursing my first child , weighing 76 kg and then I gradually derailed and packed on the phat. I'll keep trying my best to see how far we can go this time but giving up? nah... This morning I still weigh 80kg, God be praised for this enablement.

MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY DAY 25 CON'D

Yes my goal for the weekend! The week hasn't even ended and yesssss I'm 80kg. I can't believe my eyes. I said by weekend I'll ,love to see my self drop to 80, it's Thursday today and 80kg is here. Yes 80 kg you are very much welcome as I look forward to getting back my very flat tummy, my slim arms or something close to, disappearing okpa moi moi folds at the sides. So, the reason this post is titled Day 25 cont'd is because yesterday's post was for Day 24 but I mistakenly shared it as a day 25 post. Scroll down to see my 5 minutes workout video trying to burn the fat that cause folds on the sides...

DINNER: Yesterday Wednesday, I did break fast with dinner and that was it for the day. 1/2 a finger of boiled fairly ripe plantain with green vegetable stew and kpanla fish protein. My stomach is gradually adjusting self oh. I was able to eat only i/3 of the green vegetable and felt full unlike before that I'll clear the plate and take extra portion sef.

My weight is 80.kg. See the digits below... Is it the plantain and vegetable I ate for dinner yesterday or the planking I did this morning? I'm super super excited. I just noticed that my double chin is evening out, that inner one is disappearing fast fast. The okpa moi moi folds on the sides  are disappearing fast too, my Christian mother arms are gradually becoming toned and I love it. We will surely get there.

Day 25 OF MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY WITH NIGERIAN FOOD

1/2 a cup of jollof rice.
I'm so so excited. When I stood on the bathroom scale and saw the figures, I just smiled to myself and concluded that my goal to drop down to 80kg by weekend is realisable and very very close. The results are slow and steady but sure. I won't rush this because I'm not looking at short term weight loss. It is a lifestyle change. I want to permanently change some things about my size and live healthy. Some friends are suggesting different dieting methods to help me lose the weight faster but that's not what I want. Losing it faster and gaining all back is what I have done in the past, in 2010 precisely when I lost some 10 kg in two weeks for a major event and right after that event, the cravings won't let me sleep at night. I wanted so much to swallow something with some soup, I craved for normal Nigerian jollof rice and fried rice like wetin? Couldn't even last one week longer before nI crashed like a... (Thinking of the word to use here sef). So, I returned to my normal eating habit and the weight returned in full force.

I have been there, lost weight fast fast fast , gained it back fast fast fast. I've seen it firsthand and now I think I know what's best for me. I know what's sustainable and what won't hurt. I'd rather go with a method that let's me live my normal life, let's me eat the foods I grew up eating, let's me enjoy my beans and plantain, enjoy my rice and stew, enjoy my eba and egusi soup and still lose though slowly but very steady. The only thing I have to try to do here is cut down on the quantity I used to load on, give my digestive system some breathing space to churn and mix well without suffocating under the weight of "Food Overload"

So yesterday Tuesday, my brunch was some salad sort of; half a cucumber, an egg, some lettuce and onion rings . For early dinner, I ate 1/.2 a cup of delicious Nigerian jollof rice with a small slice of chicken and just four slices of cucumber. Well, the chicken drumstick on the plate wasn't touched at all oh. It was placed there to beautify the plate while I snap pictures that will make you all salivate and want to eat my rice. Lolz!

I did exercise for just about 5 minutes as my thighs are still sore from all that jogging of early Monday Morning. My Christian mother arms too are sore (Maybe the phat is crying already, lol)  because I did 100 pushups even though with my knees on the floor. I cannot come and go and kill maself trying to do men's style pushups until I drop below 80 kg, then we try that serious push ups. For now, my pushups have to be done with  knees comfortably balanced on the floor abeg. I also took a glass of chill kunu aside all the drinking water sha. The weight is dropping steady. It's 81.0 kg already. I see myself getting to 80 kg and below in the next few days God willing. This has been my desire. At the beginning of this week, I said my goal is to drop to 80kg by weekend and we can see the figures. It's just a point one drop and I land safely on 80 with smiles.

DAY 22 OF MY WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY WITH NIGERIAN FOOD

3 small slices of yam with egg tomato sauce. Next time, let's do one slice.

Yesterday Sunday,  March 25 marked the 22nd day of me trying to lose weight with Nigerian food. No breakfast. After all that Saturday rice, I rejected Sunday rice. Boiled yam with egg sauce was great. That picture was zoomed in, the real food plate looked really small. 3 tiny pieces of boiled yam with egg sauce.  (Looking back now, one piece of boiled yam should have been just fine) I snacked on 2 avocados and 2 mangoes and I ate just onion and lettuce salad with sardines for dinner.

Onion and lettuce salad with sardines.

Over the weekend, I went to my children's school and they noticed I'm losing weight. Commented that I look very different and that they love it 👍👍.
I forgot to check my weight before rushing for church and I won't even try it after eating all that yam and egg sauce and washing down with chill zobo. Hopefully, tomorrow, I know where I stand. I'm more relaxed on weekends. My weight loss journey is more focused on weekdays, I don't know why?
