HOW TO STOP FOOD CRAVINGS

Hello poster. I sent you a reply before deciding to anonymously share on the blog.

Maybe you are just a foodie like some of us. Food addiction is more than just loving food and enjoying it. Below are some symptoms of food addiction:

  1. Do you eat until you feel overstuffed like a can of sardines?
  2. You feel guilty after consuming all the food but still can’t stop?
  3. You always eat much more than you intended but can’t help yourself

Ok, if you are really convinced that you have a food addiction, you have to start with yourself. Convince yourself that you can do this and start helping yourself by yourself.

What are those foods you always crave? I’m sure it can’t be egusi soup and fufu like the one in the picture. When people suffer a food addiction, most times it’s the sugar they crave food. Junk and unhealthy foods are what mostly causes food cravings.

Try to keep junk out of your house.

Let your family members or those around you know this problem so you all can work together. It’s not good you trying to avoid pizza and that’s what they bring to the house daily. It won’t help you see progress at all.

Eat your meals at the right times of the day so you don’t get too hungry and begin to feel weak around food. When the body is too hungry, it finds it hard to resist edibles whether healthy food or unhealthy. Eat to help yourself.

Food cravings happen more when you consume sugars/carbs. Eat less of carbohydrates and consume more vegetables and fruits with proteins.

CONCLUSION:

Finally dear poster. This is on a personal note. When I want to help myself hate or stop eating any food, what I do is eat, eat, eat and eat that particular food at one sitting. I sit down, place it in front of me and eat until my body automatically rejects it.

When I noticed that my daughter was eating too much cakes. Like I bake and she wants to just consume everything. What I did was just bake a cake for her and encourage her to just eat as there was no need to share… It’s her cake.

She ate and ate that cake and ate and ate it! It’s been three years now, she still hates cakes.
