Please Help With Breast Milk Booster

Good day WC. I need help with breast milk booster.
Thank you for this wonderful medium we use to learn everyday.
I’m a nursing mother, just had my first baby a month ago.
I need advice on how to increase my breast milk flow because my baby isn’t getting enough.

Most times, whenever he’s done sucking he still cries until I feed him with an infant formula. I’ve been asked to take large quantities of tea, morning and night. To also take hot watery pap like mid day which I always do yet, I don’t produce enough for my son.
Please help, I really so need help with breast milk booster.

HELP WITH REDUCING MY TUMMY SIZE

I would also

like to know if there’s anything I can do alongside working out to help reduce my tummy. I gave birth through Caesarean Section (CS) and I was then asked not to tie or press my tummy. I’ll be resuming work soon and I need to get back in shape.
Thanks.

  2. I hv similar problem tho mine is hormonal. What I hv been doing is taking lot of fluid(water, pap, tea and Oats). Also I take palm wine cos it works for me but I mix it with water.
For ur tummy, I had CS too but I started using girdle at 4wks but not too tight and I incorporated mild exercise(walking). Take lot and lot of spicy peppersoup too (its good for breast milk and reduces tummy too). Be patient and do not cut down calories. Stay blessed.

  3. Aunty Eya please post a link for the poster on boosting breast milk as a similar post was here few months ago with lots of helpful tips from people.
As for your tummy it'll go down slowly but bear inmind that it took 9months for the tummy to stretch so it won't go flat overnight. When brestfeeding its not advisable to reduce your food intake as it might affect your milk supply but can help lose belly fat.
If you have healed completely then try doing 100 situps everyday.

  5. Worry and anxiety is a sure way to reduce milk production. Just relax. Every woman has the capacity and ability to breastfeed her child. I was anxious too after the birth of my baby but the paediatritian told me i had nothing to worry abt. If ur baby is beastfeeding and crying, it may mean that he is gulping it in too much and its giving him gas. U only need check him if he is not gaining weight. Even if he is not getting enough milk, it may hav nothing to do with ur milk production. Maybe the baby is not latched onto the breast very well. Wen you breastfeed him, does the whole of ur areola (ie the black area covering ur nipple enter his mouth?) if not he may just be biting on ur nipples and not getting any milk, and the less milk he gets the less the body produces( demand and suppy, remember?) my advice is this: in addition to eating well and worrying less , get a breast pump, pump on breast till no milk is coming out anymore atall. Do it for both breasts. It will trigger the brain to produce more. I am currently doing exclsive brestfeedind for my son who is almost three months. And he seems to always be on the breast. I dnt remove him frm the breast until he removes his mouth himself or until he sleeps, and sometimes, in about thirty minutes or less,he wants to feed again. Initially, i tot he wasnt getting enof. But beleive m he does, cos hes so chubby and the weight is fine and he s happy, xcept wen he s hungry*shrugs* so my sis, relax and enjoy ur babys babyhood (is there any word like that?)

  6. Brewer's yeast, not sure where you will find it in Nigeria. Guinness stout is an old wives remedy known to bring the milk on, I am not sure about the amount to intake though.

  9. Dear Poster, for more milk production take lots of pap (akamu), preferably with liquid milk instead of powdered milk since you want to lose some weight. Powdered milk is whole cream which is more fattening. Also, Kunu (don't know the English name) helps too cos I used it when my breastmilk wasn't flowing well, but be sure to get it from a clean environment.
Just to add, I will advice you avoid anything alcoholic (palm wine, stout etc), though some people swear by them, it's not good for your suckling baby.
About your weight, try taking walks start with short distances, then build on that as you progress, don't try to do too much in one day, else you might breakdown. With time, everything will fall back into place

  13. A CANDID ADVICE TO MY YOUNG GIRLS:
    With all SINCERITY
Young girls, you truly look PRETTY
    But i
    have to warn you not
    to loose your VIRGINITY.
    Don't allow what
    you see in your
    VICINITY
    To break your wall of
    SECURITY..
    Your VIRGINITY is your DIGNITY,
Protect it and make it your
    number One PRIORITY.
    Don't allow error
    of PROXIMITY to lead you
    into IMMORALITY.
Some of your friends call youMINORITY
Bcause you don't follow their PARTY OF
    MAJORITY,
They show off their body as PUBLICITY for
    money
    And also committing ATROCITY..
Now you are feeling PITY for yourself and a
    sense
    of INSECURITY,
    And thinking of
    embracing their INSANITY.
    But listen to me dear,
    Dont listen to them
Because all is VANITY upon VANITY
    My Sweety
With Baba GOD the ruler of ETERNITY you
    have a
    true IDENTITY
    And you are covered by
    divine IMMUNITY.
    Leave them to
    PARTY in their IRASCIBILITY
    Because in
    REALITY
    The end is CALAMITY.
They will also become HIV CASUALTY.
If you have lost ur VIRGINITY
    already,
    Don't worry,
GOD can still give you a new IDENTITY.
    HIS DIVINITY will help your
    HUMILITY
    But you have to stop
    all IMMORALITY
So that you can get access into the beautiful
    CITY
    prepared by the Almighty……
    Please dont Loose your INTEGRITY
And Bring Shame To The GODOf INFINITY.
    I rest my case
    With all Honesty.

  14. my baby is one year old and am still breastfeeding and havenot had problems with my milk supply, breast milk works on basis of demand and supply, so the more you allow your baby suck the more you will produce, initially i used a breastpump twice a day to demand more milk, so best advice let ur baby have frequent feeds, and try and get a pump that would help produce more milk

  15. I had this pap made for me, its regular white pap mixed with the brown one (Yorubas call it ogi baba) and ginger to be taken every morning. Ironically, I don't even drink it as my milk flows a lot. But I'm sure you could get someone to make it for you, its supposed to be for nursing mothers.

Also, the more your baby nurses the more milk your body produces. And as far as exercise, please forget that for now. I was warned by the doctor not to do anything till 6 months post-baby (I had a C-Section as well). The logic behind that is that it took your body 9 months to grow so getting back in shape won't be an easy task. Also, your body needs to adjust and heal itself to how it was pre-baby.

All the very best and Congrats on your baby!
