Can Hepatitis B Be Treated Completely?

Please help me put this on your blog (will like to remain anonymous) a very close relation has just been diagnosed with hepatitis B virus and it's like his whole world is torn apart;

He is a Doctor, married; so I'm
thinking he could have gotten infected while treating his patients (not sure though) and b4 someone tells me Google is the answer; have googled it already;

Only want to see if there are people who have experienced it b4 or have relatives who've had it in the past and can help give meaningful advice.
Thank you

    Its not a death sentence!! Being a doctor should know better. He could be a career that is not infectious. first thing he needs to do is to do a DNA and liver function tests. the DNA will show how the viral load and the Liver function test will show how the liver is doing. If the DNA load is within 1000, he does not need treatment as the virus stands to be healed of the virus by itself. if its more than dat, then he will need treatment. There are various treats and the expats will advise him the best course depending on the state of his liver and kidney for ability to excrete the toxic from the body.

    It's treatable. I know people who have survived it. It's also deadly if not caught on time. My uncle died from it. It shouldn't be an issue for him since he's a doctor.

    Yes, some people completely clear the infection and become naturally immunized. Too lazy to look for the number but I think it's about 30percent. If he is a doctor he should be able to look up the appropriate source, try uptodate.com or emedicine. I also hope they checked the right serology or interpreted the result right.
