He Reports Me To His Mother, What Can I Do?

Good day Eya. I have a problem & am hoping this family can help. I dread travelling wit my husband 2 d village cos every time we do, he becomes another person. No matter how much fun we have, a day b4 we go, he will bring me b4 his mum & tell her  things abt me.

Things like, i didnt give him breakfast on time, he saw a cockroach in
d kitchen, sand in d room. He doesnt watch BBA but i do so MIL heard dat. There is nothing he doesnt tell his mum. Then she will tell me dat my parents did not train me well & dat if i cant make her son happy he will look 4 some1 dat will make him happy & i go back 2 my parents.

When I found out my hubby was cheating, I told her & she said: 'You know he's a young man. Dont mind him, he will soon get tired'. Nothing her son does is bad instead she will find a way 2 make it look like i pushed him into d act.

Right now, d thought of going home this xmas is already giving me sleepless nights. Wat can i do 2 stop my hubby from reporting me 2 his mum?

Comments

  1. That's a real mummy's boy. Only sons do that a lot. Is he an only son or what? More allegiance to mum than wife. SMH. Tell him you don't want to travel home for christmas this year cos of what you may face before you leave.

He's d last born. His elder siblings can attest 2 d fact dat he was & is still being over pampered by their mum.

When you people will go shopping for the things you need for the travel, remind him to buy kane and koboko. When he asks what 4? Tell him to give to mama so that after reporting you, she will use to flog you since he is definitely going to report am sure he will get the message. My hubby use to behave like that any thing he will call his mom on phone to discuss it before taking any decision I was so pissed I started making fun of it.... Hon I want to change my hair o, I will prefer braids, but I don't no what mama will think about it, he will b like what's mama's biz with ur hair? I won't say anything. If by weekend I don't make the hair and he ask me, I will ask innocently 'have you discussed it with mama? He will go ballistics like. Is it mama that will say what will happen in my house? But after that the next time she called to ask what we are waiting for before having another baby,( we already av 3 O) he told her we will decide whether to av another or not. If na b4 you no mama is right princess is almost 3 mtcheeeew.

Some MILs sha..Tell ur hubby wat u don't like. If u saw all these things before d wedding, den it's ur cross.

But then, If he has an elder sis u could confide in and u believe he listens to, u could bring her into the matter.

    Just my opinion sha...Oma

  5. Trust me ur hubby is a petty soul... How do 1 say stuffs like this to 1's mom!!!

I blv what' he's doing is more of psychological, he needs you to be well "let down" so you'll be at his mercy! He wants to create an ambience of fear so you can run at his smallest beck and call and live with the impression that you can be whisked....

for me, I know my mom and how she reasons and talks, and I know what she'll say if I say stuffs like this to her about my partner... Almost All moms will almost think like ur hubby's mom if their son say's such.

Anyway! All you need do his give him what he wants... Sweep early, leave it at Supersports b4 he comes in and kill all the roaches... Let's see what he'll complain about next!

    Nuff'Said.

Even if he is the last born abeg its really an immature thing to do(sorry to say), the way some MILs talk and act sef, he cheated n your MIL was on his side.
Abeg poster, I concur to what Jayne said, depending on how you guys relate,I think you should tell him the exact reason your not interested in going and ask him how would he feel if you tell your mum things he does to you that you don't like n esp. d cheating thing. See his reaction, if remorseful, tell him how bad you feel when he reports you to his mum and dat you don't enjoy going to d village bcos of that, you can even cry self...but if he starts to act up, just be looking at him and not say a word, am sure in his alone time he will think abt it.
Poster pls also pray about it even b4 talking to him..
My husband too is the last born was like dat too, he will tell his mum everything and she will call me n try to use psychology for me, it got to a point I could not take it anymore I had to ask him "do u also tell ur mum when we have sex too", he was shocked and got d message I didn't appreciate him telling his mum things about us. I also seriously prayed about it, dat line may not work for u but prayers will def. Work. All d best poster..

I think this is also a lesson for us all on here. Let's not spoil our children so they don't have these issues with their spouses in future. Cut the apron strings, no one is saying don't take care of your children but let there be a balance

    4. MrsB, you talked so well. Women, acknowledge the roles you play in producing the future Mummy's boy and learn to cut the strings at the right time. This will prevent a future wife coming to this blog to complain about your son.

Boys brought up by women after the age of 10 have these characteristics; he's a Feminized man.

Dear Poster, say your mind politely but stern(however possible)to your Husband when he's in his good mood. His response should determine your action when traveling with him later in the year (Not traveling with your Husband might give him reasons to explore options with his mum)..... When that time to make that trip comes, show little or no willingness to travel, you can even pack on the day of the trip, if he asks, tell him, and I quote "I'm only going on this trip with you because I believe you will not talk me down in the presence of my my MIL, if you do.................(put what ever words that you think will scare him;u know him better than anyone, maybe except his Mother).

Always pray for marriage - family devotion inclusive.

BTW, its high time Wives started igniting that hunting nature in their Husbands; those things you did that made your husbands go after you during your Bachelorette days, it can still be ignited in marriage, let's not forget that Men are natural Hunters.

  10. Dear poster, as much as the advise of every one of us is welcome, I'd like for you to be wise. What's the assurance that if you tell him your mind he won't report you? This is someone tied to his mother's apron string and she didn't condemn his cheating. Like ace said, work on all his complaints and see what is neXt for him to complain about. The only way you can break the bond is worm your way to his mum's heart; what kind of gifts does she like? Get them, when you get to the village, wake up early and do the chores, prepare her favourites, help her with the shopping and all that. Its when you've gotten her that you can talk to him about what you like or don't like. Not following him is giving him an opportunity to cheat. I hope my little advise will help sha

    2. Hmm, it is not by force but if you want to make it work, pride aNd ego should be put aside. Two captains cannot be on a ship

    3. This kind of man even if she turns into superwoman he would still find something to complain about. She cleans d house too much and doesnt have time for me. The guy needs to grow up. Tell him they shd go ahead n find a new wife dat u have tried n u r tired. If she can cope no problem. Cheating and still has d guts to talk. The MIL n her son no try @ all
