If you are looking to plan a Nigerian wedding on a budget, it's possible. Some things are not compulsory especially if you going on a low budget. There are things you can scrap out of the list and still have a successful wedding. These things shouldn't make you postpone a wedding, they are not a do or die, they are not the core of a wedding. If you can afford everything and more, fine but let it not be that after spending so much on all these, the Honey moon begins to experience hiccups because there are debts to be paid or because the money meant for house rent has been used and Landlord is knocking.

The 15 things listed below can be taken off and you still have a good
wedding:
  1. Pre-wedding photos
  2. Elaborate church wedding: You can bring a minister to the Marriage Registry, who'll join you two in prayer before the Registrar and family and friends. Dress in your wedding dress for the Registry. After the joining, collect your Marriage Certificate, take your few guests somewhere for refreshments and leave for honeymoon immediately or just drive home and the Marriage has started.
  3. Bridal Train
  4. Flower girls
  5. Make-up artist fee
  6. No Aso-Ebi: Give guests colours of the day instead, let them be free to wear their choice.
  7. Expensive Reception Venue: Wed in the dry season, use open space instead.
  8. Live Band
  9. Wedding gown/Reception Dress: You can make a wedding gown that has a detachable train and can be used for reception or rent.
  10. Bridal Shower
  11. Invitation Cards: Make very few and send Text Messages or Social Media Invite to the rest.
