IS IT NORMAL FOR A BABY BOY TO PLAY WITH HIS GENITALIA?

Yes it’s normal! Babies are born with a body and organs they do not know. I just found this mail in my mail box, replied it and felt obliged to share anonymously because
what this mum is worried about is something that’s common.
Read the mail below:
Hello Eya, I salute you for the beautiful job you do…my cooking skill is top notch now thanks to you.                                                         I need your advice/help on something please…my 18 months old son is always playing with his pee pee…he is always tugging at it, or lifting up his shots or diaper just to play it and at the same time sucking his lips. It is now so bad and embarrassing…he does it anytime he is by himself especially when he isn’t putting on diaper.

I have scolded him, remove his hand and even flogged him…but he just goes right back to it within minutes. And it’s just I and my husband at home, not like he has see someone doing it. Pls advice me on what to do please…is it common amongst boy children?
 Thank you.

Why it’s normal for a baby boy to play with his genitalia (Private parts)

Hi Blezin , sorry I just found your mail now. He has just discovered that part of his body and will continue to explore. It’s not a bad thing but don’t let it get out of hand. All boys do that. My 4 year old still plays with his pee pee any time he has access to it. What we do is prevent him from touching by always wearing him underpants and trousers or three quart shorts.

Don’t let him stay with just under pants, don’t let him stay naked. As soon as you done bathing, dress him up, zip up and button his trousers. Please don’t flog him again. He’s done nothing wrong. He is just 18 months old and needs to explore and discover every part of his body including his genitals.

Happy Parenting.
