He told me about his past without My asking, Now insists that I tell him everything about my past. What Should I Do?

Telling him everything about my past, is that necessary?

Good morning aunty Eya, God bless you for this blog.  I want to ask if
knowing your partner's past is important.  my boyfriend insist  on
knowing everything I did in the past and he keeps asking me about it
but I'm not willing to tell him cos I'm scared he might stop loving
me.

I really don't want to tell him anything  and on top of that I
've been lying that I have nothing in my cupboard. He always says that before
we get married I must tell him everything cos he deserves to know. I
keep wondering if he is right,  how will I tell him about the abortion
I had before I met him, I feel so ashamed of myself. what do I do? do
I keep insisting there is nothing to say or do I tell him everything.
I never asked him about his past but he told.me anyways. Does he
really have a right to know?

  1. Be wise, don't destroy your relationship with your mouth. If you do not feel like telling him, so be it. You didn't force him to tell you anything, he chose to. Should also let you choose what ou are comfortable with. It's best to be open to your partner but timing is everything. He might know many years after marriage, when you have given him his kids and he has grown older and wiser. Telling him everything now might be too early and too much for him to handle. Be careful. However, if in the course of the abortion, there were complications or you were told " You can't have kids anymore" then it's best to let him know before settling down for marriage.

  2. If he is truly interested in marriage, should learn to trust and stop bothering you about a past that didn't include him. I hope he doesn't have trust issues? If God has forgiven you and said "Go and sin no more" Why should he drag you back to that past when it's not necessary. Did he mention to you all the ladies he ever slept with? THAT too is his past. Why is he looking for headache where there is peace?

Tell him that his unending questions about your past are making it seem like he doesn't trust you and ask him if he wants to know how you were disvirgined or what?

I AGREE WITH EYA. JUST DON'T TELL HIM ABOUT THE ABORTION IF YOU ARE SURE THERE WAS NO COMPLICATIONS DURING THE EXERCISE. JUST TELL HIM WHO DISVIRGINED YOU, OFFCOURSE HE DIDNT MEET YOU AS A VIRGIN AND LEAVE YOUR PAST WHERE IT BELONG.

Nobody can tell everything about the past at a go. You chose what is important that needs to be told. Ask him what he wants to know and why. Should he be interested in knowing all the men you slept with or if you're a Virgin?
The level of information you provide should depend on the level of commitment he has made. Has he asked for marriage and your parents are aligned? If not, he has no right to seek relevant information.

Madam tell him o!!! if he finds out after marriage he would not like it especially if you guys struggle to have kids which may or may not be as a result of the abortion

  6. It's your past and whatever is past stays in the past. I don't believe in telling a present relationship anything about my past, because I personally don't feel we owe that to one another, I might be wrong though but that's my opinion.
