15 Years Childlessness, Pregnant After Cheating, Please Address

Hello, I am a silent follower of your blog and I have an issue which I hope you can help me post.

I have been married for 15 years to a wonderful woman whom I love. We haven't been able to have a child. The doctor says that we are both fine.
In my 15 years of marriage, I have never cheated on my wife, up until last month, when I met a girl who is nice, reserved and pleasant. She showed me a lot that I've missed over the years, I just feel young again, so many things my wife refuses to do with me, she does with me. We

Fried rice with a difference.
Beautiful Blogger Sisi Yemmie is now a mommy blogger, she just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy who is less than a month old and right now. You and I do not need to be told that this is a very busy, tiring, guest receiving,  hot watering, sleep craving, overwhelming period for every new mom. Even if one has family and friends to do all the work, what about waking up to breastfeed hungry crybaby at night?
sometimes once is not enough. Sleep deprivationx.

Let's try her well dressed attractive Nigerian fried rice

A Faucet in Your Soul

"I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me." John 14:30ESV

¶ A few years ago, a popular Nigerian pastor was in the big news when he declared that masturbation was not a sin. Usually, when such a matter generates such heated interest, it could only mean that too many people are involved, if you know what I mean.

Is masturbation a sin? I pondered that question for years because I was involved. The answer my heart gave me was not the answer I had wanted. I secretly wished masturbation wasn't a sin! I had fasted, prayed, tried hard not to look at women lustfully. Yet, the more I tried the more my willpower buckled.

At some point, I didn't care anymore if it was a sin or not. I just wanted to be free from the habit! I

The Curse Of The Married Man: The Awakening (Part1)

The only thing more frustrating than not having available men come to you is having married men come for you. They come in drones. I mean the married ones. The happily married ones, the ones with troubled marriages, the ones looking for adventure, the this, the that, even pastors too. At a point, I was beginning to wonder if I'm not under a certain spell, you know , the type where what you desire doesn't come, where what comes is not what you want. Abi, what do they see in me? Am I the only one?

And they do it so well, sometimes I'm tempted to give in. You know, to say yes to them and collect more money.
I must however confess to having collected stuff from some of them tho. They just won't let me be, even after outrightly telling them I'm not interested and all, they still come back, insisting and all... baring and displaying all forms of gifts and cash.
The gift giving types and the money dashing ones make resisting difficult alot. Especially when you're a single and available and living alone.
Personally, I'd like to give kudos to myself for my strong will and my staying power. Left to some other girls, they would have long since been swayed. I actually know a whole lot of girls who are into this thing. But then, a lot of things keep me from falling.

As I lay on my bed last night, after receiving a call from another hunting married man ( I guess he was even calling from home, his wife must have been asleep beside him). See, married men have issues abeg.
I thought. I thought deep. I thought far.
I wondered. I asked questions.
Why do married men still hunt?
What do I have that their wives don't?
Why is it a common thing amongst them?
Will I experience the same thing from my husband when I eventually get married?
When will it stop?

To my questions, I couldn't come up with reasonable answers.
I guess it's in their nature. Abi?
I recall asking one of my persistent toaster my first question.

Getting Some Parenting Help From Police

Young boy arrest
A mom gets her misbehaving 10 year old son fake arrested by a police officer to bring the derailing young man back on track, after it's shared on Social media, some praise her for fake arresting rather than wait and face future REAL arrest of her son as a criminal. She is applauded by moms who think whatever it takes to raise a son well is in order provided the boy is not hurt by her decision. Others came for her calling it bad parenting.
Full story

I cannot judge this mother in any way. She must have tried other methods before involving the police. It's not like it's a real arrest. Boys at this age can be a

Too Soon To Rest With The Lord

Rest And Cry No More Lady T .
Rest? No! Wake up, it's two days to your birthday. How could you not tell me you were depressed and very ill? How could you come into Abuja, quietly check yourself into National hospital leaving instructions that you didn't want anyone to know, didn't want to see anybody. You didn't want to bother anyone? Who is ANYONE?

I am grieving silently and it's so heavy for me cos this whole thing I don't understand. I didn't see you sick, didn't hear about ill health, didn't hear you flew in straight to the hospital, spent a whole day there and passed on the following.

What is friendship? Why are we friends? I thought you said you trusted me a lot? If we were friends, why couldn't you sort me out as the only one to confide in? I am so heartbroken, don't know how and what to tell the girls.

You could have just let me in. Just a few days ago, I teased hubby that you look fresher now than when you were married to his friend. He didn't argue at all. We were happy thinking that you have gone past your husband's passing. You didn't fall sick during those dark days. You told me how your in-laws pounced and took everything, how they accused you of ending their son's lineage, they called you

Monday Morning Meditation

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraides not; and it shall be given him." ~ James 1:5

¶ When our children were still young, we visited an aunt in the village. While there, our youngest son said he wanted to go. So, Mum set up his potty at the latrine. That was when the 'green leaf' made its way toward him.

When my wife went to clean him, she was horrified at the sight of the green snake beside our little boy! If I were the one, I would freeze on the spot and then try to attack the snake with some grammar and hefty vocab. Not my wife! Her mother instinct instantly subdued her fear. She ran and whipped the boy away from the snake! Women never cease to amaze me!

The little boy was a little surprised at his Mum's Hollywood-like action movie. He said, "Mummy, I thought it was only a leaf!" That's the problem with raising an African child in the city. Just because something is green doesn't make it a leaf!

Naija 12 Uses Of A Food Processor

12 uses of a food processor in a Nigerian Kitchen

making pounded yam in a food processor.
The food processor is a multi tasking kitchen tool that when you get used to, begins to feel like you can't live without. There were comments on one of  our delicious processor pounded yam posts asking if a food processor is the same as a blender, NO. A food processor has some remarkable difference from a blender and even though can perform some blender functions, it does much more than a blender. Every kitchen needs both because there are some functions that are performed better with either. in the past, I thought that a food processor could only be used for baking cakes and pastries and not cooking sauces, Nigerian stews , fish stew and soups. In a Nigerian kitchen, there are so many things a food processor can do, we need it here even more because our meals take too long to cook. With a food processor being used, you spend about one tenth of your time in the kitchen because every repetitive function is carried out in seconds by your food processor. The chopping, shredding, cutting and grinding is done all at once and all you do is add to your pot and the cooking is done. In my next post, I'll try and list out the difference between a blender and food processor in a Nigerian Kitchen.

    Onome  making her pounded yam
  1. Yam and cocoyam pounding
  2. is taken over by the food processor. It grinds the yam so smooth you wonder why you used a mortar and pestle all these years. Making bitter leaf (onugbu) soup has become easier as you only have to boil the cocoyam and your soup is cooked. No need shopping for a large mortar and pestle. Mine has stayed idle until it's now growing fungus. Ijut transferred it outside because the food processor has taken over. So, my mortar is kinda fired, Services no longer needed. It's best to stop when it forms a ball in the bowl.
  3. Grinding meat: If your kids love homemade burgers and you are tired of spending so much money buying the burger meat, with your food processor, you only need to cut the beef in chunks, freeze and use the pulse button to chop which is far cheaper and safer.  Chop, and your burger meat is ready, no need for minced meat from the supermarket or butchery. Your minced meat can be used for other meals too, like making our shredded beef sauce, shredded chicken sauce and others like our basmati rice gravy for boiled rice.
  4. Chopping, Shredding, cutting vegetables like onions, peppers, tatashe, cabbage, carrots etc. for Salads and sauces like our Nigerian chicken sauce and others. To add apples to salads, Slice the apple just small enough to fit in the chute, then run them through the thinnest slicing blade and spread the sliced apples by the handful onto the dehydrator trays, they make your fruit salad very tasty or you just chop and eat your apple chips ( very tasty and easy to eat.
  5. Mixing dough
in the dough bowl, the dough bowl is actually what grinds the yam and gives us fluffy, smooth pounded yam. I have baked a cake before without using a mixer or beating with a whisk. Made the batter with my food processor. The

Brain Teasers

Answers to last week brainteasers.
'Twas fun reading the attempts at last week brainteasers. Your comments made me laugh out loud.

Haa, before we go into this week brainteasers, here's the answer to lastweeks.
Chinny T already made my job easier by getting all the answers save for no 2.

Why did the waiter call the the man an Admiral?

Should I Try The Knorr Taste Quest Cooking Competition?

Frying my home-made akara balls
Well, I've thinking o. The amateur cooks like me who do this thing, how many heads do they have? ehn? Seasons1 and 2 came and passed. The reason I didn't register is that I thought the competition was for professional chefs or trained cooks. I just learned now that it's for ordinary women who learnt to cook from mama's kitchen and theirs.

You guys have been following my yummy cooking on wives connection recipes, do you think this cooking qualifies me for this show OR, I should just sit down and not make a fool of myself? Lolz.

I think I cook well o, family and friends enjoy my cooking and thanks to mails from wives and husbands who are grateful wives connection cooking has changed their dining tables.  I really am interested in this cooking competition this season, abeg

How To Preserve Water Leaf (Nigerian Spinach)

Washed and hopped water leaf.
I tried freezing because, of all the leafy vegetables used in Nigeria, water leaf is the most difficult to preserve. It has to be used straight from the market or the very next day else the leaves begin to drop and rot. This worked perfectly for me. The afang soup was to be cooked three days after shopping and this water leaf couldn't have lasted that long.

After shopping, the very next day, I had to wash, chop, pack in a bag and store in the freezer for two days. I expected the leaves to look wilted but they came out looking very fresh and green. Now I can buy water leaf ahead of time for weekend cooking.
A bunch of water leaf. I prefer this specie with tiny leaves. The broad leafed water leaf has a way of making the soup too watery
Water leaf is used for cooking, softening other vegetables in Nigerian soups like fried afang, edikang ikong soup, groundnut afang soup and sometimes bitter leaf egusi soups.
Water leaf in a bag ready for the freezer
Wrapping in paper bags before putting in cellophane is what I'll like to try next.

Do You Agree With Manny Pacquiao's Aunt?

Kinda feel sorry but do not think it was fixed. Anything is possible sha.

In a way I did feel like Manny deserved to win that fight. He did a great job and because I didn't want to hear it from a third party, I almost did not sleep at all that night. I was the last person to go to bed at about midnight and by 2 am when the generator came on (NEPA has been doing really really well, but that night of all nights, there was no light and it's understandable.  I've never enjoyed electricity like now. Sometimes we forget that there is a generator after not needing it in months. I get electricity everyday and night, even though there is still room for improvement, kudos to NEPA (PHCN). I remember when we used to buy generator fuel on a daily basis, lol).

So,I hear the generator come on before 2 am and suspect hubby wants to start watching that fight so I joined him to start with the Highlights and build up to the match. We watched till about 4 am Nigerian time before the fight started. Floyed Mayweather obviously was very defensive, covering his face like he was scared of Manny Pacquiao not until his Father shouted the nonesense 'fear'  scary cat out of him. After his father's "scolds' he actually really stood up to Manny with heavy blows I couldn't bear to look. Before now, Manny was beating Mr Money Team. It was around the 11th and 12th rounds that he picked himself up and fought like a defending Champion.

After the fight, I immediately told hubby that they didn't really take me

I practically remember everything in the picture.

Who else remembers any of the images.
