Any Tips For My Preterm Baby?

Hello WC. Good day to you all. I wish you all the best in life. I really hope my concerns would be put up for discussion.

I am a first time mom to a preterm 2 weeks old baby. My baby came at 35 weeks.
My concerns are that I am not lactating well, so, I have been using formula.

What
can I do to have a healthy and sufficient breastmilk flow? Also baby seem to have developed a cold and is finding it difficult to breathe.  Please help. Thanks

  2. You need to see a Doctor First, then come back to read our comments, your baby still needs special care. For Catarrh, Do you have nasal drops? Go see a good consultant first Ok?

    1. If the pregnancy isn't giving any problem, then listen to mum na, 3 to 5 months is ok. No matter what, don't get to 7 months without ante natal care.

no you should begin immediately you realize you're pregnant. see a doctor as soon as possible. pregnancies are different and just cause you feel ok doesn't mean all is well

I wasn't comfy with my little baby taking 2 much antibiotics. So the doc asked me 2 put a drop of breast milk on baby's eye twice a day. I did it 4 just 2days and gbam all gone. He is 6months now and nothing like that has appeared.

please for poster that asked about mucus coming out of the babys eye dont ever try this advice of putting breast milk in the eyes. Poster u are just lucky that ur baby did not develop any complications. Am an eye doctor like aunty eya said take the baby back to the hospital the doctor would know the next line of action. Please on no account should breast milk be put in the eyes of anyone it could result in serious eye infection. Thanks.

Try skin to skin contact wif your baby. It called the kangaroo care, try it once a day. It stimulate Ur milk production. In Addition u need to b drinking enough water daily. Atleast an equivalent of d Big ragolis water Dey sell in naija. Also u nid to massage Ur breast too frequently not pressing cos it 2 different time Dat people mix togeda. Start frm d side to d Top Bit all d way to d nipple. U cud encourage Ur hubby to Help u. Wen u get to d nipple u press ere. Get a bottle ready cos u will b avin sum milk out. Or u cud get a breast pump 2.

In Addition continue to put her on d breast As times goes on your Body ll pick up the stimulus to produce ennuf milk for your baby. Dnt give Ur baby Formular before putting her on d breast. Let her suck As long As She can tolerate. Den afterwards giv her the formula As a Top up.
