How To Buy Good Bags Of Rice In Nigeria, Any Tips?

How To Buy Good Bags Of Rice In Nigeria, Any Tips?. Between December and May, my friend o, opened three bags of rice and what is in them is the same kind of rice. Buying bags of rice has become very difficult for consumers. I don’t know what is happening.

Below are three bags of rice with the exact same rice in them. The ownerb didn’t like the rice in thye first bag so she opened another bag and what? The exact same rice? She opens a third bag and again? exact same rice.

In the plate is rice scooped from the three different sacks….Same rice
What can one do?

Who knows how ro identify good bags of rice? please help us out. I love basmati and decided that since it’s the same rice in different sacks, that I’ll be buying basmati alone but in a large family cooking only basmati twice, thrice a week is not very economical.

Ladies and gents, please how do you differentiate genuine from deceitful bags of rice in Nigerian markets?
On the bag it’s written long grain rice but inside it’s short grains that turn fat when cooked.

  1. These days I buy from retailers in cupsn and mudus which is more expensive. It's very annoying to buy a bag of rice, get home, open it up and discover it's not what you always bought. What is in there is very low quality rice.

Rice market now has Yahoo Yahoo men.

  2. If you are not convinced about the size of bag in front of you, leave to the next shop. Some rice sellers have devised a means of reducing small quantities from the sacks. They pierce with a fork, let some cups fall off the bag. This way, once the fork is removed, the bag automatically seals itself and you think you are buying a 50kg bag of rice whereas what is there is 49 kilograms.
Not all sellers do this so foloow your guts and leave when the size is not very convincing.

  5. Will it be considered rude if I ask the rice seller to weigh my bag of rice in my presence before I pay?

  11. I do sell rice. It's true there are so many fake rice in the market. Rice from Thailand is mostly long grains, while those from India are cheaper and have short grains and maybe some stones. If u buy any rice with 'gold' as part of the name, it is expected to have gold color, long grains, no stones, stands separately when cooked, takes more time to cook and swells very well. On the other hand, Indian rice is short grains, some stones, cookes faster, tastier, may not swell so much, and is also cheaper.
some fraudulent pple even rebag the rice, that is what happened in this poster 's case. Vigilance is the key and don't rush to buy it because it is cheap, u might be buying the rebagged rice. Same names u know but different content
