Simple And Quick Cake Baking In A Sandwich Toaster
Cakes baked in a sandwich toaster. Lovely cake (don’t mind the camera jare)
This is in response to a comment someone made about small chops. My problem is time and taking pix. Ill try to send some finger food very soon.

Apart from mixing the cake batter, making this simple cake takes approximately 12mins for each batch. When I first came across this, I was scared it may not cook well at such short time, but surprisingly

it did.

 Ingredients:(for about 20 pieces)
3 cups of flour
Margarine/butter.   200g
2 tbs baking powder
I cup of sugar
3 eggs
2 tbs strawberry essence(or any essence)
1/2 cup of milk flavour powder/milk/water
1 tbs ground nutmeg
1/2 cup of cocoa powder(to get a different colour) .

Method: Simple And Quick Cake Baking In A Sandwich

In a large bowl, mix the softened butter and sugar and mix, turning one direction till creamy(you can also use an electronic mixer). Manually, this should take about 90mins.. Break egg into a small bowl and whisk till white. Add the beaten egg to the sugar and butter batter and keep mixing. Add the flavour and nutmeg and mix to combine well.
Gradually add the flour and baking powder and mix, then add milk or water or diluted milk flavour powder and add bit by bit while still mixing until you get a lump free and light batter.

Brush the sandwich maker with butter/oil and preheat for exactly 3 minutes. Using a tablespoon, carefully scoop about two and half spoonful of the batter into each well in the toaster to get an triangular shaped cake. Close the lid and leave for approximately 12 mins. U can add cocoa powder(or cowbell choco milk to the last batter to get a chocolate brown cake).
Enjoy your snack, also for kids school lunch box!!!!!

  2. Using a tablespoon, scoop the batter and place into each of the four compartment of the toaster so it aligns with the triangular shape(hence the final shape of the cake). The scoop maybe about two and half spoon.

  7. Mixing cake batter has never been interesting. Perhaps you could save towards buying an electrical or manual mixer which is easier. Unfortunately, if you don't get the batter right, you end up with a bad cake! Cheers

  8. Nice Ivy! Hope u took pictures? Cos we'll love to see them. Perhaps U can reduce ur sugar next time. It can only get better. I equally prefer less sugar but more milk in pastries.

  9. Hi zinny, I'm really confused, won't you close the toaster after filling it? That's because you said you filled the four compartments. With the batter being runny, won't it pour? I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to add the quantity for one in a compartment (preferably the bottom) so that as it bakes it rises to the top. But if the four compartment filling can work, then I'll try it out. Great idea by the way and thanks for sharing with us

Is urs 2 sandwich? Perhaps y ur confused. She would only need to fill the 4 bottom ones and close the lid.
