Fish and vegetable salad served as no carb dinner. This was filling even to the kids

 I decided to post this simple dinner when some of us asked about the Atkins diet. Yes, I lost 10kgs in 2 weeks with the help of this diet and I will never forget that. There is nothing too special about Atkins, you just remember to eliminate carbohydrates from your meals and like magic you see your weight dropping fast. That should tell us that carbohydrate is the major major that makes people gain weight.

Not eating carbs for two weeks is not beanz at all. I couldn’t wait to resume swallowing my eba with draw soup. It takes serious discipline. Our bodies actually
need all the nutrients but the quantity of carbs we take is what makes us grow big. When you try Atkins Diet (check their website for info) is when you’ll realize that even with everything on the plate, the absence of carbohydrates leaves an African stomach feeling very empty. I don’t even advise Atkins for long term weight loss cos your muscles will cry out.

Those of us trying for long term weight loss should please think about lifestyle changes with drastic reduction ( but not elimination) of carbohydrate consumption. Eating less carbs is very difficult in this country where we love swallow, we eat yam, cassava, bread, dodo and even when we reduce carbs, what about sugar sef and sweet fruits? 

A lot of times I enter the kitchen looking for a no carb or less carb meal and it’s difficult that’s why sometime all I do is eat just my soup with fish and go to bed.

 Croaker fish served with  cucumber and lettuce for dinner. I can take this for breakfast too.

Nothing takes away that body weight as fast as carbohydrate elimination but that should be for short term weight loss o. A low-carbohydrate diet is preferable to a No-Carbohydrate one.

  2. Sweet name sake a very big congratulazioni to you. Am super duper happy for you. Just try and balance your diet and give your body time,remember it took 9 solid months. I make sure I eat swallow just once a day and I am confident in my fat body(tho some say otherwise). I inexplicably(coz I stayed off junks) gained 38kg and now 3months later and exclusive breastfeeding I've lost 28kg without exercise. I might be slow but my baby's health is more important. Never tried Atkins tho but am a big fan of Halleluyah Diet. Next year we roll for now, tiny feet loves da bod

  3. Can you pls give me the process of frying this fish? I don't eat fish but one day I ate croaker fish unknowingly and realized I liked it, but the thing is I can't prepare it without it breaking into bits and also can I marinate it to make it tastier?

  4. Wash, salt and fry in deep hot oil. That's all. Croaker doesn't need all those procedures and seasoning.

  6. Croaker fish can be quite tasteless if u don't season it well. Season with salt, maggie/ fish spice, ginger& garlic. Allow to marinate for 30 mins. Then deep fry!

  9. Aunty Eya, Atkins is easy to follow; the key is determination and perseverance.

    If you are a lover of all natural foods ie fruits and veggies with protein, loosing weight will be a piece of cake!

    I think the key is eating heavy in the day(though not too heavy oh but to your satisfaction) and eat dinner early before 7pm and make it a fruit and veggie dinner and watch your weight drop!

    Some fruits can fill you up eg banana. Also you can engage in fruit fast-eat eg 1 apple at intervals~morning, afternoon and light meal for dinner. Not forgetting the role of water, drink water some minutes or 1 hour before meal; it helps to fill you up thus reducing your food intake.

    Like Aunty Eya said, the main food that pushes our weight up is carbohydrate; once you can reduce it a bit and eat more of fruits & veggies, the stored fats will be converted to glycogen to provide energy to digest the fruities & veggies hence weight reduces.

    The more stored fats are burned for body functions, the higher the weight decrease.

  12. No, you are perfectly normal. It shows that you get hungry more often while nursing a baby and that makes you eat more.
    Once baby is weaned, you'll begin to eat less and with exercise, the excess weight will disappear. Ciao

  14. Deep fry here is d word 4 croaker fish…let ur oil cover it, just remove d fish once its fried, deep frying does not need u turning d fish over….and once fried, d sound it makes while frying changes….

Im trying d lemon plus lime therapy thou mixed wit hot lipton tea in d mornings and lime plus a lil brandy at nite. I try to cut off fried foods n junk n i op i loose sm pounds n burn stomach fat. Does banana mk one fat
