A Must Read - What Does The Stay At Home Wife/Mother Do All Day?

I I saw this at Romance Meets Life, laughed until I said to myself ... WC readers need to share in this laughter abeg:
A man came home from work and found his 5 children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn around garden. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and no sign of the dog, walking in the door, he
found even bigger mess.

A lamp had been knocked over, the throw rug was against one wall, In the front room the TV was on loudly with the cartoon channel, the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door.

As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel... She looked up at him, smiled and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?...

''Yes," was his incredulous reply..

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.’

  1. Lol as much as we are too insensitive to appreciate the duties of a house wife, there still is a part of us hiding deep down in our soul that values their efforts.
But the house wife in this pix, hmmmm, abeg she don bath?

  2. That's the perfect reply. No need to make a list and sound like a nagging wife. Only SAHM knows what this really means I.e its depth

  3. Loooooolz I actually painted a mental picture of the situation as I read this story.
I hope she even brushed her teeth atleast.

  4. lmao, beautiful reply. Being a house wife is not easy, especially when many kids are involved. Making a house a home is a lot of work.

The most gruelling and tiring job yet, satisfying. A homemakers job is undermined cos she is not paid any financial wage...this is the most important job in the world cos it moulds and prepares the kids for the outside world.

Gosh! What about me then... Work and house chores, no help! It's killing jor! But I'll choose office work over house chores oh... God day shall, HE is my strength in all!

  7. Lmao. Correct!

5 gbosa for dem house wives in the house! It’s plenty of hardwork – work that can make you go gaga!
My little advice – hardwork (like laborer’s work) profit you little. Make time for those things that would give value to you as a woman/wife. Some would say “my husband would not let me do anything” I tell you, there are a million and one things you can do from home – exercise the power of the mind and be creative…

What about housewives that work? 20 gbosa for them! As for me, if given options, I will choose office work to housewife work! Its a non-stop work all day. arranging and re-arranging, cooking and re-cooking, talking and shouting, washing and tidying up, picking toys, feeding d pets..... unending until you retire for the day! Next day, same and even more routin especially when a child gets sick? na only God go reward real wives/mothers!

    2. Anon 9:33 u forgot to add, after everything, d man comes home u feed him, finish up d remaining chores, enter d bedroom n settle him sexually.

I tell u. And if u complain eh, d next day na frowning thruout o. I have a job, a business I run from home, 3 children aged bt 7-2yrs and no househelp. So u can imagine..... Alhough I have a lady that comes in twice a week to clean and wash, but even at that it is HECTIC. I thank God sha, as the children are getting older, its getting easier

Am wify and I still make my money is not easy to take care of ur kids and at d same time own a business but business is still better than work especially if u are on 6 to 6 work is killing cos b4 u knw it ur kids hav turned to something else I try as much as I can not to let anyone take care of my kids I take them to sch and pick them at 4.30 and once I do I will be home wit them, then my business can wait for 2morrow, I've seen things from neigbours and frnds that made me choose to take care of my home myself cos my kids are more important to me than everything in ds life.

My grandma (R.I.P.) lived as a housewife. She had 10 kids. and she handled them well. She was never unorganized or lazy like this woman. She made all the kids do their chores and let them go outside while she did her house work and didn't take no mess of any of my parents siblings either.

this woman is lazy and unorganized. She should at least have them in some kind of activities or have them join the YMCA. That way she can have some time to tidy about and cook on time to have the kids in bed.

    1. Anonymous10/18/2013

she did this to prove a point

    2. U see how pple fail their exams. U didn't even read d the post, you've concluded saying she's lazy n how ur grandmother had 10 kids. The moral of the story posted was to teach husbands that feels their stay at home wives does nothing all day.

    3. Anonymous10/18/2013

Pls go and re-read the story from the begining to end before sayin rubbish....

    4. Anonymous10/21/2013

I tire for some people! She did not even bother to read d story! and she concluded! Na wa oh!

  13. Sure, what the woman does at home cannot be quantified at all. I hope the husband in this story will see and appreciate what his home-staying-wife does everyday.
