Make Pounded Yam In A Food Processor By Onome

Making pounded yam with a food processor
Make pounded yam in a food processor by Onome.  Hi Aunty Eya,came across an old post of someone asking for pictorials on how to make  pounded yam with a food processor.Had an old one that I seldom use so I decided to give it a try.this is what I came out with.

NOTE:Yam should be cut in average chunks and let to boil very soft.Food Processor should be set at the highest and left to run .
Water should be added in tablespoons to

check the consistency.
I did them in batches and then did all again and added a little hot water to get my consistency.
End result was a very smooth yam dough served with melon soup.

Boil yam till soft enough for pounded yam

  1. Madam critic, cook your own first and send let's see. Onome is not teaching you how to cook soup. Na pounded yam knowledge she share with you. Why talk about soup when you can't even cook better.

Poster pls use a stabilizer if you like, that's not her business. It's ppl like mama nnukwu that make aunty eya gate our comments. Bad mouthing while learning.
Thanks poster, now I can enjoy my original pounded yam without looking for who to pound for me.

  6. Some few minutes .first it crushes it so it looks like garri grains then it pulls it together to form a really smooth dough.just make sure it's set at the highest level.i did the whole pot in less than 10 mins in four batches cos my processor is really small.

    May God bless u.

  14. We have a lot to learn from every scene, in this case, not just food. Like self control even during mad times. Dear onome, thanks a lot for ur contribution, from the responses so far u shld knw it was well appreciated. On the other hand, I felt abit pained by ur first response to mama nnukwu. Sometimes, our observations and critique come out wrong. That doesn't justify it, but neither do sharp replies. I didn't see mama nnukwu's first comment so did u too, but based on the anon that lashed her, u also supported. I'm glad mama nnukwu swallowed her pride to reply and offer more explanation. Let's all try to be better mature than our perceived rivals. Much regards

  17. Oya Onome talk where you see this one from because after going through Bella Naija I already have an inkling whose blog the idea came from. Especially as this topic has been on this blog before and it caused wahala about source.

  18. Bia, nwannem nwanyi, let me remind you that whatever recipe is posted on blogs is no more private or exclusive, is for public help and consumption. For readers to copy and cook and enjoy dasall. The recipes on wives connection have been used by millions in their kitchens abi na lie, wherever you see recipes similar to the ones on WC, try to think that the chef might have cooked with WC recipes eh??

I have a blog too and I use recipies from our honourable Wc to cook and even post on my blog. So long as the pics are not Aunty Eya's or WC pictures, there is no problem. The first time I saw the pounded yam topic on this blog, I tried it too but didn't remember to take pics while cooking. One topic can appear on a million sites Online but each must have some form of uniqueness from the rest.

Hope I succeeded in Educating you learner???
Enjoy Onome's skills and thank me later.
