Inappropriate Song And Dance At Children's Party

Children's parties are fun. They are organized in such a way that nobody is left out. I enjoy how the whole family is made a part of especially Children's Birthday Parties and the fun is wow.

However, even though we chose to ignore the lyrics and just dance along. Children can pick and memorize lyrics faster than most of us adults.

The Deejays may not really care about the type of song, all they want is to excite the audience with danceable beats. When next you attend or organize a child's party, listen to the lyrics and you would be shocked at what we expose these kids to

I can't
remember any of those songs right now, when I do, I will include them here so that if possible we tell our Deejays to leave out those ones for adult parties. We are so responsible for what and how they turn out. These little things matter a lot.

The songs I hear kids sing these days, not to talk of the adult sexy dance steps and waist wriggling by kids. *There are actually dance steps for kids and most times those who win their dance competitions are not the bum bum dancers.

The kids sing and dance innocently but with time that innocence is lost as their eyes begin to open to the real meaning of the lyrics they sing. Let us please try our best to help the children  by working with the Deejays at Children Parties.

I've always condemned d songs and dance but pple think I'm lame. U attend children's parties and wen they compete for best dancers u should see d girls grinding their waist n parents clapping n cheering them on they best grinder always wins the gifts.

  2. Ah...I always have a problem with these songs at parties. I cringe when I attend children parties by 'christians' and they are all dancing to very rubbish songs. The one that peppers me so much is 'Ashawo' by Flavour. Even in weddings...I see brides seriously dancing to it....that song is wrong on so many levels... Iyanya's 'Ur Waist' is another one. smh...

  3. Oh my! Anty you just spoke my mind! I was telling a friend this same thing awhile back, she dismissed it and then one day her daughter asked her "mummy what does take banana till you oyo mean" the mother couldn't reply, apparently that song was constantly being played in her car. Let us wisdom to bring up this kids, lots of things they see and hear are retained in their memory.

  6. There are songs I sang as a kid and knew word for word but I didn't really know the meaning, cos seriously, I didn't just know. It's now that I'm all grown and I check the lyrics of those my old school faves and I'm like "What da!" Lol.

Many parents want dancing in their parties, but there are really no dance songs asides the 'roll your waist' songs and gospel songs.

Let's all just go back to the days of Barney and Friends songs at parties o jare and we'll all be fine :-)

Remembering my Primary School days as I watched Barney & Friend on NTA 2 Ch 5 when I'm home from school:

"I love you; you love me
      We are happy fa-mi-ly
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you-mwah!
Won't you say you love me too?"

  8. Its a very big problem, the rate of immorality in our society of recent is quite alarming. It has eaten deep into the moral fabrics of our society.
could recall the while growingup, songs by Panam percy Paul like "come lets praise the Lord was our jam of life then at every party.
what would you say when I see the mothers screaming once Iyanya climbs the stage half clothed. Quite disheartening how u would visit a house looking for one of the parents, and their small daughter will be inside the room discussing the physical features of the visitor with her friends.

Its terrible honestly. I shield my kids as much as possible. I was horrified when one day, my two year old bursted into 'chop my money....i dont care' and 'shake your bumbum' I didnt know whether to cry or laugh.

I detest that song like ever. I can't imagine any of mine dancing to all this. much younger the fun of partying was Barney and friends, the gifts, new friends and hooking up with them later at club etc
Which way forward? We can only help but imbibe good knowledge and fear of God in kids.

Shock to hear all these talk about dancing and music, where I lived, during kids parties there are so many fun thing like facial painting, jumping in the tent, train ride.these are the things you see in kids centre.moral decadence is destroying family values in Nigeria.

  18. Our world is increasingly becoming sex saturated, and the lyrics of a lot of songs so lewd and vulgar-it's really a problem. This is a salient one, as one hardly attends a children's party where the children are not shaking one thing or the other. I think that as parents, we owe it to our children to help them make responsible choices and also help to refine their taste in choice of music. Songs are quite powerful.

Its become the norm everywhet, its as if thry just have to play the hip wriggling and bump grinding songs before u know there's a party going on irrespective of the child's age.But come oh....even adults now even enjoy children's parties more than the children sef! otherwise they probably would have corrected all the abnormalies...smh

  20. Chai! It's good to know that people share my sentiments concerning this issue. I don talk about it tire, and pple look at me as though i'm odd and say that they see nothing wrong with it. I've seen kids twisting their miniature bum bums at parties and grown up, full-blown adult men fix their gazes on their bums. It's sick really. I'm sure kids can have party fun without all those trashy songs. At my kids parties, they play more of games sha, and it's still fun!
