Anything To Stop This Excessive Saliva Please?

Anything To Stop This Excessive Saliva Please?. Hello Aunty Eya and wives connection, please I need help from women here.

I just found out am pregnant and it’s good news to my family except for what am going through. The saliva in my mouth these days is something else. My Doctor says it’s not my fault, that there is nothing wrong with me.

I searched online and even baby center does not see anything wrong with this excessive saliva.

Anything To Stop This Excessive Saliva Please? I need help.

I am so uncomfortable at work. Every one I have met just suspects that am pregnant and it’s too early. This saliva is giving me
away too soon. Someone suggested I chew bitter cola but I am tired of how it affects the colour of my lips.

If anyone has some tips for me kindly help as this is my first. I never saw my mother spitting this way during her pregnancies.

I try not to embarrass myself or irritate people by spitting in my hand towel but it’s so damn irritating and disgusting to me. Is there any thing I can do to help stop this saliva? My Doctor also says it will stop after my first trimester but I don’t know how to cope till twelve weeks.

Aunty Eya, I want to remain anonymous today pls. Any advice and tip that will help keep my mouth dry and Anything at all To Stop This Excessive Saliva Please?
Thank you.

  1. Buy a pack of tomtom preferably the lemon flavour, just keep licking it, then you can start by brushing you tongue very well in the morning and night. I hope this helps.

  2. Congrats. As for the spitting their is really nothing that can be done. With my first baby i had excess saliva until i went into labour. Am currently in my 2nd trimester and it is still showing no signs of stopping but that is just me. A lot of people stop aftee the first trimester. So you might just be one of them.
What i do is i carry a lucozade bottle with me at all times and spit into it. The bottle is wrapped so no one knows whats in it. Spitting into a towel doesnt really work as it will get soaked in time and its disgusting for even me to touch. Just get a bottle its easier. Goodluck.

  3. Yay! Another WC baby on the way, Congratulations poster!

Please get mint flavoured sweets/gum… That should work.
I only had the saliva issue for about a month or so, it might stop in your second trimester though. Oh and chewing on ginger helped me too. If yoiu can't stand the ginger, try taking ginger ale or ginger flavoured sweets.

    All the best!

  8. MrsB's advice on ginger might work for you. I didn't spit till my last trimester tho not in excess but I force myself not to allow them gather much in my mouth; I swallow them just like a regular spit but at night mostly, I have a particular small plastic bucket by my bed for spit and pee. You can make your own ginger drink and carry to work. Recipe: 1. Scrape/Wash/Grate/Blend the ginger 2. Soak in hot/warm water for two minutes and drain 3. Add few spoons of honey and shake well. There you have your own ginger drink. Can be taken warm or cold. I prefer it warm

  17. ok! hi everyone! rilly i like this place. what you ladies are doing. from most suggestion here,i shuld have to chew on something to reduce spitting. now what happens to someone like who at the moment dislikes most eatable things? almost everything eatable has an annoying offensive smell to me now. i have to force myself to eat sef. what do i do about this case? when will everything stop smelling and get back to normal? i cant even tolerate my cream anymore. i cant drink water except its cold even tho now its harmattan weather here? its silly but i can even smell peoples skin as i communicate with them. its as if am living in a strange body. hmmm…its my first. it angers me more because my husband thinks am acting.

If u decide to look for a container to spit into it will eventually start giving u heartburn so get the blue orbit its got lots of mint and it even helps u to eat well cos it will make u hungry. Congrats. Hope this helps

  31. Reverse Psychology. Forget you prepared the food, take a shower, watch a movie, do something and come back and eat the food already waiting for you on the table, as if your dream chef prepared it. Remember to take your folic acid.

  32. Mimi, u can ask me about Nausea. I musnt smell perfume, soap, fried things, too much light, TV, can't drink water….my life was just a mess for 3months but after it became beta. So just try and stay away from strong smells. Eat dry foods. U can drink plenty water and brush, it will help u vomit and ul b calmer after. Try and eat and go to bed minutes after. So d food will stay in ur tummy and u won't throw it up. It will soon be over. Don't worry. God be with u dear.

  33. Hello mummies, well I have a small covered bottle. I put small sand and a bit of kerosene. So i dont get irritated by smell of piled up saliva. More often than not, saliva and nausea stops after the next 3weeks after u have started. This may fall on your entrance to 2nd trimester. Keep up d pain and faith, it is worth the stress, when you see your bundle of joy at the end, you will be grateful to God that you went through the pain. I also keep bitter kola bits in my mouth especially when I'm at meetings where I cant bring out my plastic. I have a pee bucket only from 32wweeks when i can't stand up quick enough at night. God help us women.

So mine is all similar, my first, 2 months in, spitting per second, nothing holds my spitting game for long enough. So I am just gonna roll with hopefully after the first trimester it will stop. If not, omg I'm just f..kd. All the best to us! :-h

  35. Was researching on kolanuts and pregnancy and stumbled onto this. I am in my 2nd month after trying to conceive for about 8yrs. I cant keep anything down, my daily spitting can feel a drum. I am always throwing up and dont have appetite. The spitting and throwing up has drastically reduced for 2days now after I unintentionally chewed bitter kola. Is it safe during pregnancy? I cant stop it now because its the only thing that has made me feel better in 3weeks. I also really dont want anything to happen to my miracle baby-I will never forgive myself

  36. Hi everyone, I don't advise u take bitter kola plssss. I took so much bitter kola in my 1st pregnancy(like 10 big ones a day), I ended up with a still born at about 6 months. I'm not 100% certain if it was d bitter kola that caused it, but even i knew the nicotine intake was just too much 4 d baby. U can take Tom tom, crackers, apples, nzu. Better still, buy a beautiful cup with cover or a container that u can spit stylishly into. Before u know it, it's all over and u'll even joke abt it. Women are beautifully blessed.

  38. Concerning the issue of bitter kola, it really works for me o. If u want to use bitter kola, like two to three bites per day is ok. Just keep d kola in ur mouth like a sweet but dont chew everthing once. Chewing one per day is dangerous o not to talk of chewing ten, it can cause miscarriage if abuse. All da best o

  43. To summarize the comments, to stop excessive saliva, you should try one of these to know what works for you:bitter kola(not so good), garden egg, almonds, Tom Tom, olives, pop corn, lemon sweet, nzu, crackers without sugar, sugar free mint gums, dark blue orbit gum. Then keep a spitting can. From my experience I will suggest you add the blue morning fresh or mouth wash to the spitting can. It has a nice smell and makes the saliva look like soapy water. Eat something at short intervals to keep the saliva reduced. I got a friend to fry chicken for me with enough spice (pepper inclusive), I take little bites every now and then to reduce the saliva. Nothing eradicates the saliva for me. It just reduces it momentarily. But I will try the list above and see especially nzu, olives and almonds. Good luck ladies.

It can't be this way na. Is it like no pharmaceutical company wants to do this research to stop all these discomforts. They should try abeg. I so tired of feeling sick. It's enough.

  61. Bitter kola works perfectly for me and this is my first pregnancy.
You see here’s the thing, bitter kola according to my research isn’t good to be consumed that much so here’s what I am doing.
I take I bitter kola for 2 weeks sometimes 2 weeks and some days because really that’s what works for me after chewing gums for 4 month straight.
One bite of this kola, I place in my mouth by the side and it stays there day and night. No chewing. That bite can stay in my mouth for 4 days. After brushing, I pick it up and put back in. After eating I do same. After my medicine I do same and I sleep with it. Just that bite and can stay that long in my mouth. The one I have currently in my mouth has stayed 3 nights already and will hold until it for 2 more nights. The essence is this, it works perfectly for me but you need just a little or in moderation.
Try it and thank me later.
