Nigerian Buns Recipe By AyaOba: How to make Nigerian buns

Nigerian Buns Recipe By AyaOba: How to make Nigerian buns.  If we had billboard ratings for Nigerian buns, these buns here will remain number one on the charts for a long time. Looks too good
and
inviting. I feel sorry for those of us struggling to starve and lose
weight cos this is an irresistible temptation for Y’all.

When I opened my mails and saw this recipe from AyaOba, the first thing I did was ask if there is still flour at home, lol.
The following ingredients will make 14 buns balls, you can divide or multiply the measurements to get more or less number of buns.

INGREDIENTS FOR NIGERIAN BUNS

  • 300g plain flour (all purpose flour)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • If you are cooking with plain flour, add 3 teaspoons of yeast otherwise your buns will come out flat.
  • 3 tablespoons evaporated milk or 1 tablespoon powdered milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg(optional)
  • 300ml300ml Warm water (for mixing)
  • Vegetable Oil (for frying)
  • 2 eggs (optional)

Ingredients I used:
Flour
Sugar
Baking powder
Milk
Eggs
Salt

nutmeg
(Add yeast to plain flour).

Process for making buns

1) Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl.

2) Pour the flour into a mixing bowl, then add the salt,   evaporated milk, sugar, nutmeg ( I usually add more because the packaged one are not as strong as the one you have to grate yourself), I skipped adding baking powder and yeast to this particular dough because the flour I used is self raising flour.

3. Finally add the eggs and water and mix with your hands or wooden spoon to form the dough. The dough should be a bit sticky to your hands this way the Buns is not too hard.
4. Fry in medium to hot oil till brown before flipping and frying the other side too. Oil should not be too hot else buns will start to brown and burn without cooking through.
5. Serve with some beverage, as a snack.
