Re: Nollywood Actor Solomon Akiyesi's Private Wedding Disrupted By Heavily Pregnant Wife

Nollywood Actor Solomon Akiyesi.
After posting my thoughts on this issue, I kept thinking about other things like; what happens if he decides to carry on with his mistress? After all, they may have done the traditional African wedding. If Solomon decides to continue his marriage to
his second wife, is there nothing his pregnant wife can do?

The baby from his second marriage, what happens to him? Will he be seen as a legitimate child since the traditional wedding of his mother has been conducted and bride-price paid by the man's family?
May God help women in Africa!
Are there lawyers in the house? Kindly help us with explanations please.

Again, the pastor, priest or registrar involved in a bigamy like what nearly happened yesterday, what happens to him. Has he committed a crime? Is he free of the crime?
Are there not supposed to be some serious underground investigations before anyone joins man and woman as husband and wife?

Eya. This story has bn on my mind 2 since yesterday. If the guy is pressured, he may go as far as divorcing his 1st wive so as to marry the second. Just to prove himself right. Dey hav obviously done their tad wedding. Unless ofcos he insists that he shud b allowed to take more than one wife, which a lot of men do anyway! If I find myself in this situation, God knows I will b weak to my bones. *shudders*
Imagine if the 1st wive didn't know abt dis wedding and next week he will arrive PH with a fat pregnant woman and her luggage. My sister the shock wud hav killed the poor 1st wife.
Unless he was going to keep d second marriage a secret 4eva.
    Jesus!

I already lost whatever respect I had 4 that man. JƱڪτ̲̅ thinking abt Ȋ̊†̥ makes me nauseous. Even if his marriage t̲̣̣̥O̶̲̥̅̊ T̲̣̣̥hĩ̷̊s woman was having probs, pls why get anoda woman pregnant a̶̲̥̅̊ñ̷̊D̶̲̥̅̊ then fix Ƌ̲̣̣̣ wedding. Without concluding ur life with ur wife. Its Ƌ̲̣̣̣ pity. I dnt think there Ȋ̝̊̅§ any law on bigamy I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ Nig,the men JƱڪτ̲̅ get away with Ȋ̊†̥. I dnt belive that the other woman had ‎₪☺ idea that the man Ȋ̝̊̅§ married. The man's comment on fb again shows he's Ƌ̲̣̣̣ low life. I pity those who does biz with him. Cos Ƌ̲̣̣̣ man like that W̶̲̥̅̊ȋ̊ƪƪ definately ßξ Ƌ̲̣̣̣ crook. #spit on his ugly face#

  8. Apparently Solomon says his 1st wife has been a pain in his life and decided to get rid of her. My opinion is he should have sent her packing and legally divorced her before disrespecting her like that. I hope both ladies leave him on his own n no other woman wants him till he gets too old n visits his ancestors.

  9. @lizzy,are u married?if yes and u have married friends who have issues in their marriage,u wud understand that most married men who are cheating and tired of their wife when they feel they have something beta on their plate (beauty or money)lie and tell d world that their sweet loving and caring wives are nags, dictators and all sorts. As the saying goes,to kill a dog u must ist give it a bad name.ps dear, don't believe one word from a man who cud go this lenght.if he was sincere,he wud have asked for a divorce and then it wud hav bin a diff story if he was claiming that he tried divorce but d real wife refused. From all indications,he tried making it a secret and had d support of a stupid guy like lancelot who I'm so ashamed of and by the way,his wife should now beware of the kind of devil she is married to.No woman deserves this,8mnths preg?I mean he should be by her side petting her,not going to marry a donkey.God help us!marriage is just God else it crashes

  10. To answer your question, Eya she can take the matter to court to institute proceedings. They were married under the law and the law recognises her alone as the legal wife.
He didn't ask for a dissolution of the marriage but wanted to get married to someone else again under the same law.
Doesn't matter whether they've done their trad wedding.
Infact, both ladies can and should sue him. The legal wife for attempting to get married to someone else while their marriage still exists and the second one for misrepresentation, I think. Cause he didn't tell her he was married.

There is a law on it in Nigeria. The point is Nigerian women always believe in letting things go. If just one woman will take a stand on this issue and pursue it very well and publicise just for other Men to take note. There are things that she would have done....One is for her to have allowed the wedding to hold then sue him for bigamy or secondly still sue for bigamy either ways if the traditional wedding held. She may or may not win the case depending on the lawyer she gets but it will help drive home the point on the law against bigamy.
