Slim spaghetti with fish and carrots

Slim spaghetti cooks very fast, it’s important not to leave the kitchen while
cooking. For corned beef, I’ll advise that you buy small sized exeter corned beef. They are more meaty and do not disintegrate in the pot. This food is to be taken to the office for lunch, the addition of chopped vegetables (carrots) prevents spaghetti or noodles from sticking together.
Let water boil before adding spaghetti
parboil slim spaghetti for 2 minutes
parboiled spaghetti is rinsed
Add parboiled spaghetti to boiling water, with oil, peppered stew, sardines, corned beef, thyme, seasoning cubes and salt, allow to boil for 3 to 3 minutes before adding vegetables
add diagonally chopped carrots and allow to cook for about 2 to 3 minutes
check for salt and tenderness, if OK, remove from heat
cooked slim spaghetti with fresh chopped carrots
a serving of healthy pasta
a small portion of yummy slim spaghetti cooked like jollof rice

This dish was really yummy.
Enjoy your lunch!

  3. @ Chichi its the type called Spagettini, they are slimmer than normal spagetti. Its written boldly on the pack spagettini n I would suggest that golden penny pastas or any other type besides Dangote. Cos everyrime I hv tried dangote my pasta comes out looking like 'Agonyin beans'.

  4. Maybe the oil was not hot enough, or it wasn't much, or the beans paste was too watery or the beans not smooth enough so it was disintegrating. I will suggest you buy a mortar, a small mortar so that after blending in the manual blender, you put it in the mortar and grind it more by rolling the pestle around with the beans in it.(I don't know how to explain it sha…but if you go to local women that sell akara, you'll see them doing it.) Otherwise, just use an electric blender.

  5. I thot it was just me. Dangote spag is terrible. Even when I try to put less water, out comes out looking like undone spag mixed with semo. You're right, anyone but Dangote.

  6. Sorry Dianahills. There is something you didn't do correctly. Ahdaisy told you exactly my thoughts. I will just add to what she says.
1.For akara to soak oil, that means the oil wasn't hot enough before you added the ground beans.
    2. Scattered in the fry pan;It was too watery, wasn't properly mixed with a blender or mortar before frying, the beans was not smooth enough and so could not hold together. Adding an egg and mixing before frying would have helped the not so smooth beans to stay together.
    3. No dear, you can't use another spoon. To make round balls, you have to scoop with a deep round spoon. To see the spoons as shown in an older post, go to this link: http://www.wivestownhallconnection.com/2013/02/brown-akara-balls-with-gingered-brown.html

    4. The manual grinder is just the first phase, after that, you were supposed to blend or mix well in a mortar before frying. The manual grinder alone cannot make beans smooth enough for akara or moi moi. You either take it to the mill, or start with a manual grinder and then proceed to a blender or motar and pestle.

    5. A manual grinder can only give a different taste if it's rusted inside, or wasn't properly washed after the last use.
    6. Check blog post categories on your right, click on "ALL MOI MOI AND AKARA RECIPES" Read the akara post of 9/2/2013.
    7. It's very easy to make it look like mine Dianahills, meticulously follow the procedure and enjoy your akara balls.
    Have fun frying!

  7. Sister Debby, the only thing helping me is the fact that I eat smaller portions and do my dance exercises thrice a week o. Sometimes even jogging on the spot for thirty minutes brings out so much sweat, and I feel lighter afterwards.

  18. The correct way of making spaghetti,is to first boil the water. When the water has boiled, add a pinch of salt & a teaspoonOf olive oil or any oil of your choice. You now take your spaghetti, break in half and throw inside the water. Stir right away frequently,in order to separate them,so they don't stick together. You do this for about a minute, then let boil, stirring intermittently. It takes about 10 mins to cook al dente, which means, not too soft. Drain,by pouring it in a drain. You can now mix it in whatever pre-made sauce you have made. It comes out the same way, without looking like jollof. That is the Italian way of cooking spaghetti. Tried the dangote this way & it turns out perfect, every time.
