Everyone Pray For Me, Injections Without My Husband’s Knowledge

AnonymousMarch 19, 2013 at 12:28 PM
I claim my baby too, everyone pray for me. I personally took a 3month Depo injection without my Husband’s knowledge because i was not ready to have a child then, we were not engaged then and i

dont want a case where i would get pregnant and he would tell me he was not ready since i once aborted.
Now, my Mens. seized for month after the 3month Injection, i have started seeing it again but i have been having unprotected sex for Month now and i am not getting pregnant. I met a Doctor, explained everything to him and he said it was the result of the Injection that i might not be Ovulating and that there is no drug for it until it takes it due course and it varies from individuals that some last for 5years.. I dont want to regret my actions. Can anyone advise me on a method i could apply?? My Husband is on my neck, we have been having unprotected sex for over 1year now.

Please people, if you want to have a Family planning, dont try the Injection method if you have not had a baby or if you still want a baby, the 3month or 6month can turn out longer than they say, Copper T still better from what i heard.

  1. Wow, this one is difficult. I am not too knowledgeable when it comes to contraceptives. I know a little about emergency contraceptives (the morning after pill). The only one I am an expert in is the withdrawal method…lolz

Did the doctor not tell you about the side effect of the injection before you took it? Pls everyone reading, DO NOT GO TO A DOCTOR WITHOUT DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH ON YOUR OWN. Thank God for Oyibo People and Google, you can at least get some information about whatever illness you have or procedure you want to undergo. Doctors are humans and sometimes you have to remind them of stuffs.

My dear first of all, in all fairness, you might have to come clean about what you did so that your husband will not start imagining that all kinds of things are wrong with both of you. After all, you did it before you got married and you were only trying to protect yourself (and ur relationship cos unwanted pregnancies can spoil everything). So tell him cos you guys need to work together both physically nd spiritually.

    2. Seek a second and third opinion. Not that your doctor is not good, sometimes, these doctors hold on to old school information when there are a lot of advancements in the medical field. It might surprise you to find out that there are other drugs or injections like hormones that will nullify the effect of that drug (dats my assumption anyways, me na art course I read)

    3. Try normal things that improve your chances of conception. Healthy foods, fertility supplements, predict exact ovulation day (basal body temperature charting, cervical mucus test and ovulation test kits), BP control, and make sure you are at your ideal weight (bmi)

    4. Avoid unhealthy habits, drinking, smoking, junk food. Reduce you caffeine intake, stay away from coffee, fizzy drinks and too much tea. 1 cup a day is ok.

    5. Pray like never before and avoid negative confessions. Always think and speak positive. Hold on to God's word and let your faith work for you. Children of God have defied both medical and babalawo science for thousands of years so your case will not be different.

Finally, relax….give yourself peace. Always operate from a place of rest. Try and not be moved by what you see nd hear, ok?

God bless you and we will be here to receive your testimony before the year runs out in Jesus' Name, Amen!!!!

  4. Please o, nobody SHOULD EVER BELIEVE that urination is a contraceptive method, once a man ejaculates in you, the sperm moves on, even if U pass out two liters if urine, it has gone to its target zone, those guys have a mind of their own.

  6. Please see a gynecologist. If you are in Lagos, i advise you either visit Island maternity or Navy hospital PWD Ikeja. There are specialists there.Pray too, God answers prayers.

  7. Kk. I am in support of what Adaeze has said. U need to see a gynecologist ASAP. I am a doctor and I knw people who have taken the depo without any problems so I don't think the Depo is what is causing ur infertility. Again, why are you assuming it is all ur fault, hello, ur husband needs to be checked as well and as soon as you make this problem a collective problem between problem between you and your husband and not just you alone, I see you living a misearable life and going thru this problem all alone.
There are so many sophisticated methods these days to check if u re ovulating, the least being an ultrasound. Don't waste your money on ovulation kits. Just see a good gynecologist and let him put you through on what you need to do. Go with ur huBby as well cos those little soldiers need to be checked as well. All in all, don't worry so much, engage in activities that makes you happy and hope for the best.

Again, the internet is your friend. You need not wait for your doctor to spoon feed you with info. Do read up around what's going on in your life and be better informed. Take care. Creative Mom

  10. The hole you urinate out of is a TOTALLY DIFFERENT HOLE from the one the penis goes in. The hole you urinate out of is called the URETHRA (which is too small for a penis to enter anyway) and the one the penis goes in is called the VAGINA (also where your period comes out from). Therefore, urination CANNOT in any way prevent pregnancy. BE WARNED: urination as a form of contraception is a MYTH. The lady who said that was just lucky.

At anony 8.09,as a doctor u should obviously think depo is d problem b4 other causes.I will first blame the bad doc or nurse who gave u depo, depo shuldnt b giving to someone without a living, healthy child. In a beta country d provider shuld get sued.wat u need along with prayers is to consult an experienced gyanecologist and b ready to spend good cash incase you will get help reversing the course of d hormone, and other causes will b inv too.truth b told some people neva get their fertility back after using depo, but this is not ur portion IJN.If u are runing the natural course of depo then you can give ursef 3 more months b4 u conclud u need help.frm a doctor

  16. My dear depo is not the cause of your problem, and their is definitely no cause for alarm . Go and see a doctor for proper check up and you might be amazed it is a very small issue. Relax belle go soon come. Enjoy.

  17. The effect of artificial contraceptives differ from woman to woman. Even the IUD you were recommending, I have seen women who had issues with it.

If your health officer or even doctor had done some minor tests on you like hormonal levels and past history even BMI, lenght of cycle he/she would have recommended something suited for your body. But in Nigeria, we hardly do that. Though BMI is easily ascertained and those on the high side are usually asked to stay away from fat-inducing contraceptives.

Some would call me archaic but I always tell women who are yet to give birth or not done with childbearing to abstain or use natural family planning. Why? Because some of us are marginally infertile.

From the knowledge of your body, do you think you are ovulating?

For now, see a obs/gyn. The most important question is to determine your hormonal levels. If anyone is low, he/she will give you drugs. If they are okay, then other options will be explored – weight, food etc. And then you might have to take a conception assistance supplement such as Pregnacare Conception. Which will just enhance the level of vitamins/minerals needed for conception. Infact, you can take them before even heading to that doctor.

  18. No, you are not archaic Luchi. Like your comment very much.

condoms and having sex on your safe periods are the best to me.

I used copper T after my 3rd child and got pregenant the next month after I removed it and had my 4th child.

4years later I removed it and have been using my safe periods and condom for a year now.

  22. When using the withdrawal method, the guy should urinate after ejaculation as it flushes out all the sperm in the passage way, be4 goin fr a 2nd round, I guess that's what she means, as they r nt using condoms, cos if he withdraws and cleans up and comes bk fr round 2, there wld definitely be semen in the penis dt wld drop out cos as they say there r millions of sperms in 1 drop and am sure there wld still be millions in the passage way…

  25. Hello guys, I would like some information on where the best place is to get a Depo Provera shot administered to me please. Preferably a hospital or clinic where I can discuss different birth control options without going through the hassle of having to register there. Thanks…
