Then I read some comments online blaming the late woman. Saying she is selfish for dying and leaving her kids to suffer. I just shake mu small head because talking like that is ignorance.
Depressed people can’t even feel love for anyone including kids. Postpartum depression that is capable of making a mother hate even her newborn baby?
When people get depressed, they are sick but you don’t see it on their physical bodies because it’s a mental sickness. A sickness of the mind.
When we hear that someone took their life out of depression, there is no need to blame or say things about them. They were sick, needed help and didn’t even know what they were doing at that moment.
Post-par tum depression gets worse if the marriage relationship isn’t a good one. Combine depression, irresponsible spouse and fights. The worse could happen any moment.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION
According to Mayo Clinic, the signs below are what you see when a woman has postpartum depression….
- Depressed mood or severe mood swings.
- Excessive crying.
- Difficulty bonding with your baby.
- Withdrawing from family and friends.
- Loss of appetite or eating much more than usual.
- Inability to sleep (insomnia) or sleeping too much.
- Overwhelming fatigue or loss of energy.
- Long term sadness
- Anxiety
- Feeling overwhelmed
When a woman has a new baby, please look out for these signs. May not be all of the postpartum depression signs listed above. She could exhibit just a few but you see sadness. You expect a new mum to show excitement but she’s not. Find ways to help please. She might be experiencing postpartum Depression. and needs help from family and friends.
Just taking her away from the irresponsible husband and from that environment for a while could help save a life like the one that just got lost.
