New mum given 'wrong baby' by hospital only realised when they got home and took off the nappy - "I asked the nurse once if I'd had a boy or girl, and she did not say a word,I asked again, no reply at all"

After delivery, a mum was told by a nurse that she gave birth to a baby girl (that's after asking the nurse for the third time o), but she got home, took off the nappy to change her baby and lo and behold a baby boy.
Daily Mail Reports...A new mum was shocked and appalled when she was given the 'wrong baby' to take home by the hospital - and only realised when she took off the child's nappy.
The mistake only came to light when she summoned her other four children to watch their new sister called Masha have her first bath. I took off the Pampers and
saw it was a boy," said shocked Oksana, 36. "I said: 'Oh my God, have a look. This is not Masha, this is Misha'.
"I immediately checked the label. It said clearly I'd given birth to a girl, not a boy." When she gave birth, Oksana said the baby was fleetingly put on her chest by doctors and midwives at her hospital in Voronezh region of Russia - but she only saw the face.
Then the child was whisked away due to a "risk of infection".
"I asked the nurse once if I'd had a boy or girl, and she did not say a word," the mother told Russian Channel One.
"I asked again, no reply at all.
"On the third time, she shouted back that it was a girl."
Documents given to the mother and held at the hospital also said the child was female. This included the baby's "medical passport". Some Russian hospitals still operate a system inherited from Soviet times where there is minimal contact between the mother and child after birth even when the baby and mother - as in this case - are healthy.
"I was shocked and called the hospital to tell them they had given me a boy," said Oksana, who now regrets not having asked the sex when she had a scan.
She feared the baby had been swapped in the hospital - after a spate of such distressing cases coming to light in Russia.
The doctors arranged a DNA test and said the result proved Oksana had been given the right child, but Oksana is not convinced and is demanding a second independent analysis. Deputy chief doctor at Liski regional hospital, Marina Milashenko, said:
"The midwives were very busy. They were extremely tired. "That day they had six births.
"Of course, we are very sorry that such a situation took place but it did not damage anybody's health or life.
"This is the main thing. Documents can be corrected. Once again we send our apologies to the mother."
Yet she did not explain how the error was not noticed for the full five days the baby was in the hospital.
Oksana said she had pleaded to see her child each day, but the doctors mysteriously refused.
"They said: 'Don't worry, your child is fine, we're feeding her. You should stay in your ward downstairs, you will see her when go back home."
She claimed the senior doctor even "reprimanded" her for having "so many babies" and threatened "to take my child away".
When it was time to go home "she brought me the baby, said nothing about 'her', and handed me the child."
"When we got back home, the baby was quiet, sleeping and eating.
"We did not change the pampers but then I decided to wash the baby.

"I called other children to meet their new sister and said ' We are going to bath our Masha'." This is when the truth was discovered.
A midwife came to her house and said: "I don't understand how this mistake could happen."
Oksana is now demanding a new DNA test because the one she had was conducted by the same hospital.

She has the lingering fear that the child could have been swapped and wants an independent test.
She also wants the hospital staff to be "punished".
"I am still worried," she said.
"It was my fifth birth, and each time I could see my baby after birth and later. "Before I saw the baby properly when I was leaving the clinic with him or her, but this time - I don't know what happened - maybe they thought it was my fifth baby and they could do what they want.

"The doctor never came to see me and talk about the baby.
"I could not see my baby.
"I don't understand their actions at all." She feared that she was treated badly because she did not offer gifts or cash to the medics, a frequent practice in some hospitals to ensure proper treatment.
"Maybe they were angry because I did not bring them presents or money?
"I am still shocked with this story, and all my friends are shocked too."
*This hospital just took sleep away from her eyes because no mother will have peace nursing a boy after she was told her baby is a girl. Other DNA test result might help.
