Legendary musician Carlos Santana weighed in on the controversy surrounding Beyonce‘s loss to Adele at the Grammy Awards. Adele took home 5 coveted statuettes while Beyonce won only 2 — for best urban contemporary album and best music video.
When asked why Adele won Album of the Year over Beyonce’s Lemonade, Santana said “I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing”.
“With all respect to our sister Beyoncé,” he said, “Beyoncé is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modeling kind of music—music to model a dress—she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her,” he told the New Zealand Herald.
The 13-time Grammy winner said, “Adele can sing, sing. She doesn’t bring all the dancers and props, she can just stand there and she just stood there and sang the song and that’s it, and this is why she wins”.

Meenie: I am sorry but I don’t know what the big fuss is about, Adele can sing better than Beyonce b/c Adele is a SINGER and Beyonce is an ENTERTAINER there is a difference. Beyonce sings and dances and Adele has only 1 thing to concentrate on and that is singing which she has mastered like Beyonce has mastered the art of performing. Adele doesn’t have to overload us with albums and songs to prove she can sing she can do it live and just stand there and it is better than Beyonce’s entire circus that she puts on. So I agree with Mr. Santana on that but what I didn’t agree with was that condescending speech that Adele made to Beyonce when she accepted the award. It’s already bad enough to the #Beyhive that Adele won the award but to make a speech like that and rub it in was just too much.

Just listened to the Adele performance from the Grammy’s. I’m a singer…i think i would have messed up too —i don’t like that music it sounded really weird.
If i remember correctly, Beyonce messed up on Precious Lord when she took Ledisi’s place. she recovered a little…but that song started off real rough. NO singer is exempt from that happening.

Sauce: Carlos has a right to his opinion but it doesn’t mean that that is why adele won … the award was album of the year not vocals of the year lol when taylor swift won it was not because of her AMAZING vocals … it was because of all her trendy songs on one album …furthermore the winner thought bey should have won … they are both talented I enjoyed both albums … you can’t win them all …some people went home with nothing

Ann: By all means, I am not Stan, however, Carlos needs to sit his old ass down. Beyonce has a beautiful voice just as well as Adele. She was snubbed and boils down to color. Visually and musically, Lemonade was awesome… She should have won the award… Just like Ri Ri should have as well… And how is it that Adele can stop in the middle of a performance, stop, start back over, and receive a standing ovation. But Bey can fall down the stairs and continue as if nothing ever happen. The level of professionalism and hard work that bey displays..is remarkable.
