Thanks WC For Changing My Marriage, I still Need Help For My Son

Is My Child Too Dull At 2 Years 9 Months?

Aunty Eya,may God bless u and ur hand work IJN, I want to use this medium to thank all the WC peeps that are giving people good advise here.

I once told you people how my king (hubby) has been threatening me with divorce and the advice I got here made me be the one to do so to him now (is not that bad oh i.e. he treats me like a queen now that's why I called him my king).

 Though I
zipped that my so called razor blade mouth and will always say sorry even if he is at fault then later I will tell him that what he did is not good and all my sorry will be returned back,THANK YOU ALL.

My question today is about my 2yrs and 9mouth kid in Kg 2 but can't write alphabets.  He can sing everything being taught in school e.g. alphabets, count from 1-50 though you have to count the 20,30,40,50; states and capital, National anthem etc., yet can't write it down.

Is there any way to help him apart from this my every day holding his hand and showing him how to write?
It's only in scribble that he has A1. Please your advice is highly needed again thanks.

Why are you advising angrily, I see nothing wrong with her asking if the boy is dull. She asked a question

Aunty, pls nthg is wrong with ur son, kindly stop being negative! I personally dnt like the term "dull". Kids dnt learn at the same pace. Just teach him tenderly. Write around him and keep his own stencils close by, he might want to copy u. All d best.

He's not dull. I have twins of the same age and class. One is able to count and write letters while the other one isn't. He has his areas of strength and in no time, he will catch up. Never beat him nor shout at him pls. Be tender and in no time, you will be amazed. God bless

Your son is not dull. Scribbling is what most kids that age do and scribbling is part of the learning to write process.
At that age the muscles in the fingers are still developing to enable them grip and hold pencils to write.

One tin I know doesn't work, is beating and using of negative words. My kid bro picked up after repeating his primary one. After then it ws as if sometin opened his brain and the boy neva came third all true primary school and secondary school. It ws 1st or 2nd throughout. Jst be patient with him and teach him as often as u can

  7. Well, atleast he's good at scribbling, which is what is expected of him at his age. Don't push him too hard to grow up faster than he should. You might as well make writing fun for him by initiating some writing games for kids. At that age only kid from Mars or Jupiter should write that well.

Your son is perfect my dear. However, to boost ur childs smartness, u can give him cod liver oil which contains DHA necessary for brain development. Get him children s story books and read to him as often as you can. And let him play too. Its good for him. Above all, relax. If u and hubby are of average intelligence, he will be fine.

am annon 743pm. That doesnt mean he is dull. D teacher may be a new teacher and he may find it hard to relate wit him or her, even if is nt a new teacher and dnt doesnt bond wit pupils it may b hard o to talk. Children want dat bond and closeness. Wat has d teacher done abt it?

I think you have rushed this child too much, at less than 3 years he is in KG 2? Then at less than 4 years he will be in grade 1. I think you need to slow down, it is not always how far but how well.

I agree with you, I was one person who said my children wil not go near a school untill they are at least 3, but your child is safer in school than at home wit Nannies while you waste away all day at work. So sometimes it's not really intensional that we send this kids to school early, at least for me it wasn't.

Firstly congrats on making ur marriage work, like aunty eya, always depicts it takes two to tango, there can't b a reaction without an action.may God keep your joy.

Now to d baby, note that kids are different some emotional, some rugged (d tales of my two sons), some are, extroverts some introverts and they all respond differently.
All d advice given above are fantastic, ur son is wonderful and unique in his own ways.

Am using my son as an example, 3yrs plus

He started school early at 1 plus but does not make a genus in writing immediately, he can speak grammar for whole Africa at 2plus coz he talked early, can correct all ur errors but write and count na war

Initially I wasn't bothered cos he has other strong strength, but there is a feeling when u see other kids of d same grade doing such, u will want same for yrs

I started getting worried when his aunty made comments, I decided to teach him but I get frustrated when he wasn't responding and had to beat him hard, I was angry with my self, I prayed about it, then decided to get a lesson teacher.

I started seeing changes that particular week, my son liked d lady, teaching was more fun, I smile each time I hear him sing and count along.I compared both note books, it was d same but one was much fun, has colours. Hence d, change of school as session ended.

Kids tends to respond to other teachers asides their mum, coz they are used to us, 've learnt not to compare kids else, u kill yours doh not physically.

My 1plus prefers my maid hold his hand to write, infacct have decided not give my self headache and let him b, irony of life.

Note, an expensive school doesn't mean it's d best, style of teaching has change

My own daughter is 2 and five months, she is in nursery1 , she counts from1-20 and can Identify her alphabets buts can only write letter A and no 2 & 3, I clap for her always and tell her she is the best cos at her age I couldn't do so. What I am saying is, your child is just fine except if he shows signs of being slow otherwise leave him be.

My daughter is 3+, and in KG1. She can write 1-10, write A-Z, identify figures and alphabet very well.. She's smart! But guess what? I made her to repeat her pre-KG, cos I saw she was too young to cope then... Pls dnt take ur boy to the next class, and for next sesssion, change her teacher!
