Pregnant At 40 After Eight Years Of Child Birth, I Need Advice

Pregnancy comparison. 26 weeks and 40 weeks. 2005
Pregnancy comparison. 26 weeks and 40 weeks
Hello Aunty Eya, please we need advice from WC blog, hide my identity. My sister just got pregnant at 40 years, her last child is 8. She didn't plan to get pregnant again, it was a mistake.

Please the pregnancy is still early and we are
very worried. Is it safe to get pregnant at this age and after that long gap?
Does anyone know women who have successfully done that? Please help us post it for advice.

  1. Hello, I just published your mail on the blog. Although there are some risk factors associated with pregnancy after 35 years, I have read many success stories of women who gave birth to healthy babies even at 50. Different women have different bodies working in different ways.

I think your sister needs to see a Doctor and get registered for her ante natals ASAP. She shouldn't delay. Different tests will help her Doctor and nurses know how to manage the pregnancy. She should see a Doctor.

I think @40, she's very ok to have a baby, and a healthy baby at that. She shld see see a Doc, and get registered in a good clinic.

I actually laughed at Ace's response. That was a classic line for those with a good sense of humour.

Its very ok, no problem. How can u say there are risk factors associated with pregnancy after 35 years. What about women who get married at 35years, what about women who married early and could not make babies till after 35years? what will be their fate? Am just happy that God is not a man. He maketh everything beautiful in His time. @Poster I ve seen a woman that had a child at 42years without complications.

Medically there are risk factors but there is nothing God cannot do. There is risk involved does not mean it's impossible. Being realistic is good sometimes. Faith

This is the best response ever. Just because people don't advise pregnancy after 40 doesn't mean she can't safely have a baby. God does not make mistakes

Medically pregnancy after 35 has more risk factors than less than 35. Go to baby center or goggle about pregnancy and age. Thank me later.

She is good to go!!!... wit a good medical care I don't think there wuld be any risk. Mum gave birth to her last child @ 41yrs, nd dre wasn't any complication.

  8. I gave birth in April at 41, my last child was 7 and half. My baby son is perfectly healthy and is a delight.
I was on the pill, but it happened. I believe God wanted it to happen.
Abortion was never discussed or considered.
Apart from the normal morning sickness, i was alright.
God can do all things just pray and believe.

so what is the difference with a person who gets pregnant at 35 but delivers on her 36th birthday is her baby now at risk because she is 36 look at Halle Berry, Nia Long and plenty others who had babies in their 40ssmh at all this age wahala

  10. Can we just open our minds to understanding? She said there are more risk factors after 35 she didn't mean its impossible.

yes...my mom had her last child at the age of 41 after 9yrs intervals with her last child, she delivered without any complications. Don't worry, she will be fine provided she attends all her antenatal visits regularly.

Of cos she can hv safe delivery without complications, fear aside pls..................but note dat of women of her age r termed "at risk" not bcos dey cannot hv safe delivery but because dey r "UNIQUE" hence dey demand special care n attention from ante-natal period till post partum period.rembr Faith without work is dead,dt simply means she must attend all ante natal visits,tk her drugs,Eat lotta fruits, bed rest............appreciate n enjoy this unique pregnancy.lastly she shd put GOD ist ,GOD has d say n not doctors.
