Home made lip moisturizer
Re: Simple Tinted Lip Moisturizer By Ahdaisy Jayde.   Do you have any bold coloured lipstick you bought just because you love the colour but it turns out it’s too heavy or doesn’t fit you at all?
Do you have any lipstick that is just wasting away because you have not had the opportunity to rock it? Do you always have dry lips? Do you

spend so much on lip moisturizers that don’t work? Do you like light makeup?

Are you looking for a simple lip gloss that you can just rush and apply while on your way out and be sure that your lips still look good?
Are you an ‘Alaroro’ like me but don’t want all those cheap looking lip glosses that look like groundnut oil and feel like gum?
Then this is for you.

What you need:*Lipstick (I like using Island Beauty bcos it is cheap and has a range of really bold colours)
*Shea butter
*Flavoring essence
*Small plastic bowl
*Empty container (I used empty cases for rings)
*Plastic disposable spoon.
*Microwave

Procedure:

1. Remove lipstick from tube, put it in the plastic bowl. Add equal size of Shea butter or more. The more Shea butter you add, the less concentrated the colour so adjust to suit your taste.
2. Mix the lipstick and shea butter together, then pop it into the microwave for 30 seconds or less depending on how stiff ur Shea Butter is. Leave the spoon in so that the mixture on the spoon can melt off.
3. Bring out the mixture and add a few drops of flavouring. Mix thoroughly and put it back into the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
4. Pour into ur container and put in the freezer for 30 mins then transfer to the fridge until stiff. You can just leave the mixture in the fridge or a cool place over night for it to become stiff but putting it in the freezer immediately helps it stay together..the lipstick might settle and separate from the Shea butter if the mixture stays warm for a long time.

If you don’t have a microwave, put a saucepan on fire, add water. Place the bowl containing the mixture in the pan and stir while the boiling water underneath warms the mixture.
And there you have it! Your lip moisturizer with a wearable colour and a lovely fragrance.

For the plum one, I added chocolate flavour while I added strawberry flavour to the pink one. You can add a little honey to the mixture if you want it to taste sweet too…but me no likey. Though honey is good for ur lips. To brighten ur lips, use a toothbrush with or without toothpaste to gently scrub ur lips. Rinse and pat dry then use this mixture on it. You can also use granulated sugar to scrub ur lips.

  3. You should start a make-up business. All these home-made knowledge shouldn't just be kept in the home you know. Well done.

Just like Nekky, I must confess, asides spending time doing experiment for new food recipes or baking, heaven knows I wouldn't have the patience to try a home-made make up. I'm terrible like that 🙂
I will repent sha. Let me just book mark it.

@ Everyone, thanks! Glad I cud help. Pls note that once you have all the ingredients, it does not take up to 10 mins to prepare. It's cooling it that might take time. And you need only a drop or two of flavour.

  8. This to me looks like using lipstick 2 make lipstick. Wats the difference btwn this and simply buying a lipgloss or lipstick with lots of colours to choose from? This is for ppl with plenty time on their hands.

  9. This is a moisturizer, not just lipstick or lip gloss. It helps dry, chapped or black lips. Ur lips stay moisturized for a long time. (One of the wonders of shea butter) It is not just for the colour. And it doesnt shine like normal lip glosses, it gives you an almost matte finish. It is cheaper than normal moisturizers. This can be made for less than 300 naira meanwhile, a ready made moisturizer can go for between 1500 to 3k. It is also more in quantity. You can make this in less time than it will take you to make indomie.

  10. I think we need to recommend this Sheabutter guy to GEJ, he should apply it on his for head every morning, even his ministers and aids maybe it will make them think well and provide electricity.

@AhDaisy bekee, this are the simple ways the chinese man uses his ingenuity to give us sheabutter and coloring as mary kay and black opal.

Way to go Ahdaisy, I need to go fabricate a tricycle so I can teach the men here how to beat go slow especially in a city like lagos where okada's are banned.

Did I see you dedicate it to meeeeeee… Awwww! Thanks, some day I'll love to see aunty eya make "Sheabutter Rice" or "Sheabutter Sandwich" hopefully soon.

  17. Ahdaisy, I've just started the night cream thingy last week.

I also read it does help cos the skin does it rejuvenating and repairing work when we are asleep at night. Infact, the body in short does its repair work when we are at night while asleep.

Have you noticed that when you wake up in the morning, your skin would be smooth sort of and the face a lit bit puffy?

  18. @ Jay, Ah, sorry o…I forgot. Ehn, at least you kiss the crucifix with supple lips.. 🙂

@ Rubynnia, it's true o..,I noticed. Wow, I'll take the cream thing seriously o. But I feel hot a lot. 🙁 . maybe I'll just rub very little and see how it goes. Atleast now, the weather is cool. Thanks dear…

  19. @Ace, I'm speechless!

@JaY, I don't really know but I doubt it. I think applying it to lips would only help cure dry and patched lips, keeping it smooth and moisturised.

If you want pink lips, try using exfoliating agents like lime, lemon, vitamin C, milk, honey. The first 3 would give a noticeable change depending on the frequency of usage but the last two take time. To achieve this, you need PATIENCE!

Tell your boy friend to consume 1.5kg worth of Sheabutter, then he should kiss you for 5hours straight… All will be well afterwards!

Tell your bf to watch "1000 ways to" on "Sony Max" first before he goes ahead with the session!

    Thank me later!

  30. For brighter lips, get a small spoon and mix equal quantities of Tumeric(major ingridient found in Curry powder) and milk. Sprinkle cold water to turn d mixture in2 a paste and apply to ur lips. Leave 4 10 mins and wash off. Do this religiously 4 a week or two depending on d level of blackness 🙂 u will see changes.
Tumeric is a known natural dye.
