A lot of people have difficulty balancing work and family. "too much stress" is a serious problem for us today. Recent studies show that women are more likely than men to report stress. When stress is ignored, it
can escalate and lead to chronic conditions. Stress is the body's signal that our lives need attention.
Stress is the body's signal that it needs to take out time to rest.

When it comes to stress, it has been said that "if you do not take out time to rest, you will definitely take out time to be sick." When stress is not addressed, it makes us vulnerable to emotional and physical illnesses such as anxiety, heart attack and depression.  Every body is different. What stresses your spouse or best friend Meg may not stress you. It is how you perceive things. A stressor is a demand that is made upon your body or mind. Stressors can be caused by external pressures such as:

  1. Bad work environment
  2. a rebellious spouse
  3. noisy neighbors and so on.
  4. A dysfunctional family
Internal pressures such as feeling that you are not good enough, or that you must compete or that caring for your needs is selfish, can leave you stressed out.
As women, we are very good at multi-tasking, and this is another  BIG stressor. Having to manage the kids, take good care of your spouse and rush daily to work.

There are some situations in our lives that are stressing us and are unchangeable, and we must learn to stop expending emotional energy on those situations and begin to focus on areas on which we can find solutions.

Although a certain amount of stress is necessary in life. Necessary in everyone's life. Without the stress of the alarm clock, many of us will fail to get up in time to meet the daily responsibilities. Without the stress of the alarm clock, I am quite certain that my kids will leave for school by 10 am on certain  days like Mondays.
However, nearly every adult person has more stressors in  life than is healthy.  some of this stress is robbing us of good health now and creating an atmosphere for chronic health conditions in the future. Get rid of some of these stressors.

How To Get Rid Of Stress In Your Life

  1. Be more flexible and forget about being perfect. Especially if you are a mother of young kids. Expecting perfection leads to stress.  Forget perfection for now! Just do your best.

  2. Get outside help for household responsibilities if needed.

  3. Do not take life too seriously

  4. Say no! to added demands on your personal time.

  5. Try as much as possible to delegate responsibilities to others.

  6. Exercise to release anger.

Take care of you, invest in your health.
You can beat stress by following the following tips:
  • Get enough sleep. Look for activities that c you can give up to help increase your rest and sleep time. For me, I think it has to be giving up watching the late nights Mexican Soap Operas. Play soft, slow rhythmic music at bedtimes may help your body to relax and sleep off.

  • Simplify your life: Determine whether you really want or need everything you currently invest in. Cut unnecessary stressful activities out of your life. If your body is already over extended, then say NO the next time you are asked to take on a new responsibility.

  • Eat well. A body that is well fed does not waste time thinking about food. Eat healthy, make meal times fun. Avoid getting yourself over worked at meal times. Include lots of green vegetables and fruits in your meals. Rice helps me sleep well. I do not know why is that, but I discovered that every time I eat rice and try to sleep. The sleep is deep and very restful. Beans does that to me too.
Stress can rob anyone of good health. Many times, people fall sick, go to the hospital, but the Doctors cannot really diagnose what the problem is. Emotional and mental diseases sometimes are caused by too much stress.
Too much stress weakens the immune systems and exposes our bodies to diseases. It makes the image in the mirror look older than normal. The effect of stress, even if not felt now, will still scream out later.
